Looking to start an economy friends chat

Hi there, basically looking to start an economy based friends chat that does a host of different things which i won't go in to great detail about just now, because for the moment i'm looking to recruit/find people with a similar interest to me:
The economics of RuneScape. The Grand Exchange, most importantly, and how game updates and shifts of season affect the economy.

I'm just looking to see if anyone else is also interested, so if you are, post below.

You're recruiting people but you wouldn't tell what the fc is going to be for?

 

Someone will steal my idea. I just need some people with a sound base in economics, so preferably if they did it at school etc..

 

Unless this idea is for your own profits, I don't see why you shouldn't tell us what it is about

 

just tell them people already do it but not as a cc based thing i can understand why you wont say the cc here tho because then it will be linked to this site..

 

Ok i guess why not.

I wanted to build up a nice list of contacts and we would all discuss and negotiate price changes in the economy due to a wide-spread range of reasons that would help if you had some economics background or just a great deal of RS economic sense.
Together we could predict slight trends of items and particular groups of items hopefully all benefiting from this if we'd chosen to invest or not.

I then thought that if this was a success I'd be willing to open up the FC to the complete public and we would guide people investing, almost working as an investment company for the better good of others.

Tell me if i'm doing something awfully wrong here, but I just kind of like the idea of it?

 

and if you didnt get that in other words all chat investing in items that go up due to updates/bots gone etc

well that's the point, it's not merchanting. we wouldn't need everyone/anyone to be invested in the items because they're going to go up anyway based on the future updates/changes. It's not relying on mass investment, where we would be the pulling factor of that item's increase in price. It's relying on an update or change to the game that would make that item become more or less valuable.

It's basically mass merchanting. They see an item about to rise then they get a clan to buy all the items out to maximize profits then the leaders + ranked dump for max profits then they tell the rest to dump..

That's what I assume your doing.

And @fezzbamf I tried to explain in my post above its not mass marching because its not reliant on other people buying the items to increase the price because we predict the price to rise regardless.
