For me, the HTML5 runs faster on my laptop compared to Java, but then others are saying the opposite.

I prefer HTML5, but what do you think is better?

Well the first few days HTML5 came out it was super laggy but after that it was smooth, and awesome to play on.

I do prefer Java though, but I'm not complaining because HTML5 is nice either way. :)

html5 isn't optimised as well yet, it will be a lot better when they sort out the little niggles.

Yeah, what I noticed was the distance rendering, I couldn't see very far into the distance, yet they said that you'd be able to see quite far. I suppose it is kind of still in beta though.

It's still really jumpy, and it's not my computer.

Html5 runs slower than Java for me. I can get decent fps on html5 (20-30) but Java gives me 50 constant. Hopefully as they continue to update the html5 version my fps will improve and I can use it instead of Java.

Hopefully it's just because it's in early days, hopefully it'll get better.

Personally, the Java client runs the smoothest on my PC. I do enjoy the HTML5 beta, but not being able to mute the audio is quite annoying. Going to hold off on it until I can mute the music. (I like having in-game sounds, not music)

RS3 is playing via a client for me, so I'm guessing it's java, do you have to run the webclient for the HTML5 version? I've had no problems with lag so far, regardless.

Oh, that's true actually, I run it through the client as well and I get no lag. Maybe it does run with Java.

Java was smoother for me. Maybe because my comp sucks tho.
