When Will RS3 Be Released?

I know they said summer, but is there anything more specific?

Based on how the beta progress is coming, I'd say August sometime. I don't think it'll be ready for a July release.

Just be sure you're a member. There's the HTML5 beta and the NIS (New Interface System) beta. HTML5 has the new graphics and I believe it only runs on Chrome. Also, it uses your current saved game for testing. You will lose items if you die and such. The NIS is java based and uses a non saved file of your current save - so if you die it doesn't affect the live game.

You never explained how to actually get into the HTML5 version, you just explained what it was..

I did that, logged in, then all I see is an option to play NIS system, not HTML5 client.

 

Hmm. I thought it was open for all members, but perhaps it's only available for those who signed up for it a few months ago.

 

their currently a trial, but only those who signed up in advantage can acess beta, and as when to rs3 will be released it need more testing time to find more glitches ect.

 

Is RS3 like RS2 or is it COMPLETELY different? I dont understand why they came out with rs3 instead of the HTML5

 

The HTML 5 is what Runescape 3 basically is they are switching off of Java which should expand what they are able to do.

 

RS3 is going to be the live game (RS2) with improved graphics for the HTML5 version, eventual availability on tablet computers and what JaGex is describing as "The 6th Age" so they'll be lore updates that have to do with the gods and such. They've also said something about the player influencing the game in bigger ways, so we'll see. There's a video come out today on the RS youtube channel that supposed to contain more info.

They're not switching off Java, at least not in the foreseeable future. Java will still work for those who can't use the HTML5 client.

 

I'm seeing at the official page of RS that they will be releasing RS 3 at exactly the date of July 22, 2013.
