Torva vs Bandos

How much better is Torva than Bandos? I'm trying to get 92-99 slayer and just want an efficient set-up. Is Torva worth that huge price tag?

 

It's not really necessary for slayer, it's also got the repair pricetag. Bandos will do fine for you, the only gear that you should bother shelling out for slayer is weaponry.

 

thanks man, so should I get drygores (yeah I can afford em). Which set of Drygores would you recommend, if any?

 

I'm not quite sure, it all depends on the monster weakness, and I got 99 slayer pre-EoC so I'm not sure which one would be best.

 

would you say that in general, drygores are better than say, an ags?

 

Yes, if you are going to use a godsword, use a Saradomin Godsword for the healing and prayer regen, very useful for slayer

 

torva is overpriced.

 

I love how it looks, but regeneration is why I'm not getting Torva or Drygore, even if it's not all that much to repair, I don't want them crapping out and "dying" in the middle of an important task. I'll stick to SGS.

 

I've had both and, while it may all be in my head, I did notice a pretty significant drop in the frequency that I was getting hit while wearing torva. I seem to use soul split less frequently and almost never eat the food I bring. So I prefer it over bandos and would say it's worth it if you can get it. However, with the 125m difference just on the plate, I can see how it'd be difficult to justify upgrading.

Hmm..Thanks for the insight man! I may have to re-think this then. In the age of EoC, not eating food sounds very appealing to me...I used to be able to make do wearing just initiate in Pre-EoC and never needed food (have 99 prayer and overloads)

 

Torva is definitely much better than Bandos in every realm bar cost efficiency. The former is ungodly expensive and costs gold to maintain. The latter is rather cheap in comparison and has decent bonuses. If you feel like you can afford Torva and its maintenance, go for it. Otherwise, stick to Bandos.
