Anyone remember the days of pure plates?

This goes way back. I started Runesape when I was in 6th grade, I am now 24. When I started there was only 1 server. And back then a while later when they had introduced the dragon slayer quest, you were able to ground transfer the map piece that required tele grab. So I had pure fighter that was able to weild rune plate. Shortly after the dragon slayer quest was introduced they changed it and made the item untradable. The left over pure plates dominated the wilderness and hoarded rune 2 handed swords. I was one of the few. It was the most glorious days of pking I have ever had. It was exciting for years. God I miss that. Does anyone else remember these days? I know I have a longer history than most with RS and if you weren't around back then what period was your "glory days?"

 

I remember when I used to kill monks and they would run away in rsc which I hated. Also, when silverlight actually helped a lot against lesser demons...

 

Haha i remember making my first set of bronze armour and it felt amazing. The sense of accomplishment i got... Then when pked steel full, i was over the moon!!!

It's kinda sad the game was the best when i was new to it, everything was a mystery. When i got more experienced (accumulated 150M in 2007 through staking when gold was about $3 - $4/mil), the game became all about amassing gold - robotic and dull.

 

Agreed, I remember getting my first whip when they released for 40m, it took 3 weeks of killing green dragons and once I started staking with it while others were still using dragon weapons it was amazing. Then bots happened and when I started using them, it was just basically bot, sell, bot more.

 

btw, for people who couldn't understand the OP, this is what a plate pure is.

I remember when I first got a 70 skill, I thought I'd done really well. The way times change.

 

That is incredibly old-school. I started playing in 2005, and got to enjoy the golden years of Runescape

 

Played back in 06 remember getting my account up and my friend would give me the next set of items mith>addy scimmy. My others friend started and we would verse one another in wild, I would die with my magic gear. So i got members and thought my members items would destroy them little did i know members items did not work in f2p

 

Sadly I was around back in those days. I have been around RS for way too long tbh >_<
