RIP? what do you guys see the future of eocscape with gambling having an alternative, gold prices? fall? rise?

 

I hope they eliminate gambling completely, bring on the hate.

I've always disliked gambling in RS because of how unlucky I am xD

 

Yeah me too... my luck is so shit gambling lmao (i bust when they bust on 2x ties etc) will be interesting to see what alternatives and what kind of poll they're gonna make. Also prices of rares/nex armors etc

 

they will never be able to delete it completely, due to the Irc gambling.

 

but by other alternatives that im pretty sure will be close, if not 50/50, alot of people would pick that over an irc that can be rigged (has happened before)

IRC gambling will stay, jagex cannot do anything to keep it off.

 

Pro solution: it's called even or odd. walk up to a guard and hit it, if it's odd the host wins, if its even the player wins.

why would people choose that with risks of getting scammed, to an alternative game by jagex? (which will probably 50/50)

 

No offense but that's incredibly close minded. Obviously people are attracted to that type of high-risk game play. If Jagex doesn't want there to be the potential for scamming between players then they should implement a system that IS BETTER than flower games and such in order to try and shift people over.

My only hope is that they come up with a couple of solutions and then have players vote on it. I would hate to see something stupid like a couple new wildy npc's introduced and them call it "high risk content" that players are looking for.

 

I'm kinda glad they are removing the flower games, have seen plenty of people get scammed recently and it's about time they removed it.

 

I actually like seeing the flower game bots and people lose huge sums of cash while firemaking.

OT: There will always be other forms of betting/gambling besides staking in the game.

 

The only foolproof way to eliminate hosting completely would be to set up some ways to gamble on runescape itself. Of course then they could potentially be hit with gambling charges (not sure since it's the virtual good that is being used - not up to date with the intricacies of this).

It sounds more like they are fishing for options at this point, and are trying to tread carefully around this issue. Even though the majority of the population do not like or support gambling, there is a very large amount of people who do - most of which who are paying members, and many of which play RuneScape SOLELY to gamble and make money.

I kind of suspect they are trying to think of the smartest plan of action here, to please both the regular community & the gamblers alike, to avoid losing any sort of membership subscriptions lol.

In my personal opinion though - I would love to see gambling stamped out of the game once and for all.
