What's the outcome of all private servers?

With Runescape 2007 coming out within the next few hours, what is the fate of all private servers?

Will they all die out? Will they just loose players or will they stay the same?

I'm sure other people are wondering too.

I only have one view and I think that all 'old school' 06/07 remakes are going to feel the impact and maybe the 'newer' servers will be fine.

Assuming Jagex cools their tits on the poll hype, they'll effectively crush any competition they have in the 07scape market. With the way things are now, it'll be $11/month to play a Jagex-sponsored RS2007, so the free-to-play business models of servers like Project RS06 should remain stable.

 

I think they will do fine for the next month to a few months. A lot of people will give up on 07 runescape in the beginning due to having no items/cash in the game. Due to having to slave for everything they want. But once the economy starts to establish itself I can see a lot of those players coming to 07 runescape.

 

I think private servers will always be there really..

 

I can see a massive downfall in private servers, they will hit the ground now a jagex official server has been made, It's not going to end well. RIP SoulSplit/Project06/BattleScape

 

im sure they will do just fine.

 

some of the 417 and post 2007 servers will still last, but because of the stability of the official game it will be hard for 2007 servers to compete.

 

Will be good for a few months. But once the GP and items start rolling in 07 scape they p servs will die.

 

I think ProjectRS06 has gone already..

 

I think the private servers are still going to be there. If Jagex makes us pay for the 07 servers, then I think people will eventually stay playing private servers.

 

They'll always be there. Some people wish to play on servers with a high xp rate and an abundance of items.

I found this out last night.

It was gunna happen and everyone knew it.

 

I don't think they're going to die out, especially spawn servers (as there isn't anything like them released by Jagex)

People will still play 614's and stuff if they don't want to revert all the way back to 2007.
