2007 Servers Are A Big Scam?

Are the 2007 servers just a big scam? As I have just been doing some calculations and apparently the vote poll thingy is getting about 32 votes for every minute obviously this is an average so give and take a few. But with this number of votes per minute it will ever hit the 750k marker so it will definitely not be free and probability says that it will not hit the 500k marker so is this just Jagex trying to scam us all again?

How is it a scam? .... Your sig is a scam if that how you want to put it.. Your makeing people sign up for your guides to be free??

Jagex are makeing people vote / sign up and if people do it will help keep it free

 

jagex must be very desprerate to make this kind of move they must have lost tons members and now theyre trying to cover those losses by making us pay double membership for the 07 servers

 

I'm pretty sure the only reason they brought back the 07 servers is so we would pay more membership! They are so money hungry =\

 

Mate no offence or anything but read the FRICKING facts before posting I simply just like people to sign up to the site under me it is not compulsory so you do not have to sign up... I just someway or another need to make the money so I either have to charge for them or do the free way which I prefer which is to get referrals!!!


Read before posting next time and how can this RuneSCape thing not be a scam? They are trying to charge us for a game that we can play on private servers for free and they were offering it for free before. I doubt whether there is even 750k active runescape member accounts to even get that high hence why it is a scam.

 

It's not a scam, but I think it's overpriced if they are asking you for an extra $15 a month. That's just over the top.

 

Money hungry? They are a business. Of course their main goal is to make money. Luckily for us, Jagex is actually not half bad. At least they are bringing back the 07 servers like we requested. The reason we have to pay more in membership fees is clear. Jagex is gonna have to pay some people to take care of the 07 servers and they will have to pay to get the 07 servers running. Jagex is not going to take a loss, so if fewer people want to play, then they will have to pay more to do so. If more people were to play, then everyone wouldn't need to pay as much.

I would love to jump in on the its a scam band wagon but to be honest with you its just simple business. Jagex was bought out as we all know from an American Subsidiary company, who for lack of a better word buys off struggling games like a debt collector or wishes to cash in on a game that is doing well.
The development team in all honesty want t see the game thrive no matter how it looks, but when your higher ups make decisions you have to follow them and if your company was about to go under and the dwindling player base almost all clamour for the same goal you should charge them for it.
Make free unobtainable but make just above free what gets reached everyones happy and gives it a whirl.

 

Jagex is not half bad? Hmm I'm pretty sure that the only reason why they had to resort to bringing back the 2007 servers, is because they drove away too many people from the current game.

agreed to an extent. They want us to pay extra for this server but they gunna receive less maintenance then the original. I believe once the servers launched it will more popular then the runescape EOC version. This is quite exciting there are many views and opinions on this. I just cant wait to see what this brings.

What part of what jagex is doing is a "scam"? They've laid out their terms, very clearly, for 7scape development based on this vote.
Until they change the terms after the vote, or someone has evidence they are rigging the vote, how exactly is this a scam?
Because you're butthurt it won't get 750k votes and you don't get to play 7scape for no additional cost.

 

They're making more money than ever before anyway. They aren't desperate, we're the desperate ones. No one is going to force you to play on those servers.

People complain about private servers being shut down, yet when jagex decides to release their own (and no doubt better) servers, you guys just need to find something new to cry about.

The only reason I'm throwing in my comments is to provide my opinion to some of the other nice responses.

JaGex are in no way at all scamming anybody. They're providing a service that has been highly requested by their base revenue - depending on revenue received gives them the price.

Is this not what all companies do? If you have a clothing brand:

They sell their clothing at a reasonable rate depending on the demand.

If they then have a mass demand for a product and offer to go to retail - they do so at a lower cost with more widely distributed revenue.

This is what jagex are doing, with a larger revenue - they can bring down the prices as they don't need as large of a margin per player.

You think jagex is there just for you to have fun for free? they're a business, they need money to run, and thats there goal just like every other business, if u dont want to pay extra then fucking dont. if you cant afford it, sorry, get a job. to young? get your parents to pay, they wont pay? then just fuck off and go play a free game.
