Google trends on runescape

Peaked around dec 07, so this server is a good idea

it was 97% compared to 13% this month thats a loss of 84% of searches, which is kind of relative to the player base. You can see when it died, not sure why they thought removing free trade was a good idea. It killed the game.

The reason they added the trade limit was "because RWT will ruin runescape"

This isn't about the 2007 servers but interesting to see how downhill it went due to bad updates

 

The removal of wildy is what made most people quit, not the free trade. Then they started to come back, and then disappeared again. I reckon the 07 servers will bring people in for 1-2 months, then they'll get bored of the nostalgia.

 

They have gone to far to ever come back. Even if they bring back the servers it just wont cut it. Gerhard ruined this game and there is no going back. The damage has been done. No amount of nostalgia will fix it. Like above poster said i probably will play just for the sake of nostalgia but it will get old fast.

 

Also keep in mind that more and more people have a toolbar or have a 1 click button for the RS homepage so they no longer need to google it. It's definitely not the only reason(obviously), but it "contributed" to the drop.

Jan '04 has more than Jan '13, lul, runescape was still 'classic' back then wasn't it ?

edit: yeah was classic until 17 March 2004 according to wikipedia.
