Transferring names

I wanted to ask this question be certainly sure I know how to do this. I completely understand that waiting 28 days is considered the safest method, but can someone tell me if the name your transferring is 100% safe after waiting out the 28 days. Also how long should someone wait before doing the 28 days method to make people forget about the name. Thanks for taking the time to answer this. And please do not link me to a "transferring names safely." thread, I've read almost all of them. :/

I'd wait as long as possible, change the name and then wait a week or so over a month. (your name won't disappear in this time) and then change over. There isn't a whole lot you can do to prevent someone sniping the name through unfair means though, using bots etc. There's always risk involved no matter what.

 

I'd wait a week and a couple days, do it a random number of days that noone else knows. Also try it at a time where most the world is either sleeping or at school. Gives you a slightly better chance, though there are always the threat of bots.

 

It's extremely risky, I've lost names worth several hundred mil RSGP due to general naivety, make sure you stay inactive and don't tell anyone you are transferring. There is a sticky about transferring names in the Name Sales section.

 

No it is not 100% safe even if you do the normal 28-35 days method.

People set up new accounts auto-clicking to try and take the name so as soon as you change it they can snap it up before you get a chance to take it on your other account.
Your best bet is to do the transfer straight after an update as it will take the auto-click bots offline and therefore most will not be up and running when you go for the xfer.
If you can't wait for an update, I suggest doing it in the GMT morning, when most US players will be offline.

Possibly the only 'safest way' is to wait months and months on end before transferring a name. NEVER do the offensive name method no matter how long you wait. There will always be a risk now with name checker programs out there and easy ways to program things automatically. I have lost two names to the same sniper from Sythe even when I waited one name for around 2 months and a random day and time and not telling anyone about it. You just have to make every second count and be as quick as possible. Also, it usually does depend on the name as well with having increase chance of being sniped. It definitely has the same risk as having the rare name being recovered. There is no definite safe method for transferring names these days. I have had a friend in the past who transferred his name successfully during some sort of update so I think the best time would be when the website/game gets updated. It is probably because every update you would have to log out and reload the client which bot programs will need to be restarted. (Unless there is some genius program that will go back to the registration screen right after an update lol)
