Where's runescape going to be in 2 years?

Some would say Runescape is on a downfall right now. Mainly bc of EOC and a select batch of updates they don't quite care for.

So, with this in mind, we're do YOU think RS will be in a couple years. Is it going to become worse and worse, or do you think something miraculous might happen??

Could they make servers like old RS?

Could it become even better than ever? I realize this is really up to the developers, and their ideas.

Just want to know what you guys think

 

RS will have a new playerbase, and it will have people who appreciate EoC. However, because of the investors I believe that there will be more in-game purchases, and the game will be based more around SoF etc.

 

i feel like a bunch of new players will find that spark i found back in 06, or at list i hope so. It will suck knowing that the game i had so many good memories with has ended. i don't play i log in once in a while, but i still pay membership . i feel like i can't cancel it

 

Agreed, they're actually focusing on challenging, rewarding, and interesting updates alike now. And from the EoC changes they're listening to our voices in the RSOF so. I would confidently say there will be a spike but with newer players. Jagex already said their numbers have gone up, but their initial player base has begun to dwindle. What can you expect though when change is inevitable.

I REALLY hope they come out with rs3, and fix what they've done to rs2 >.<.

Or else come out with a 2006scape of their own...with a few highly sought after updates. Maybe a few of the newer items and quests, but with the feel of old rs. Pre GE days were the best... I get all nostalgic thinking about it.

 

No one knows, But I know if Jagex takes Gambling away, there will be less players than there is already.

 

Jagex will go away from game aspects in the past there catering to a new audience most of the players in the prime of runescape are starting college and getting jobs or working so probally more updates to make it a mmorpg that can compete with other games of the time.

 

Two options from my point of view..

A.) Jagex wriggles as much cash from the game as then can, and then decommisions it.

B.) Jagex realise/apologize for mistakes, and listen to the community and rs would probally return to #1

 

I think they will continue to advance, and make updates that are more flashy, and appealing to newcomers

 

It will be a good game for those who registered after the EoC and don't know what it was like before EoC.

 

For some reason, I highly doubt this will ever happen.

 

I hope in 2 years it won't be around anymore, it's mocking the good old day's and truly is a piece of shit now. But being realistic it will still be around, with a lot of new players and I think the game will be almost unrecognizable. They have killed it already.

On topic;- I think more 'old school' players will quit, more new players will join, they will continue adding updates alot of people will cry about because they don't like change, and us people that can adapt will stay and enjoy it.

Agreed. I hope that this gam won't be around anymore in 2 years. I Always Loved Runescape but now they've mad it way to money related SoF and all of that plus i hate EoC. Fuck these investers ruined the game

It will be somewhere between a watered down, less popular version of WoW and habbo hotel.

 

All signs point to downhill (thinking in the mindset of a RWTer). All of these huge gold farms in China have made our sales go to shit. I used to stock ~1b a couple years back and even that was enough to keep business well and afloat. Now you need so much stock to compete it's insane. I want to buy back in after a year-long hiatus but I just can't put myself to do it...

I've stated my opinions many times on this forum, but I enjoy the new updates. I believe the game is better than it was 7 years ago. And the economy is a huge problem, but I'm not complaining. 10m/$1 in the future? Okay.

 

I think Jagex may give players a chance to tell them what they think about the EoC. If Jagex knows that most players do not prefer the EoC, then maybe, just maybe, Jagex will get rid of that dumb update!

 

In 2 years RS won't be in my life that's for sure.
