favorite, least favorite and most important updates ever in runescape?

hey guys, I just was curious about your opinions on your favorite, least favorite and most important updates ever implemented on runescape, please say why as well, I just thought it would be fun to see , I know loads of people are going to say EOC so I look forward to reading each and every single one :/ so here's mine:

favorite: tokhaar cape or whatever because before they updated how it looked, it looked like a lobsters backside

least favorite: the Armour graphical update to rune and dragon etc. I thought it looked much better before they updated it :/

most important: I think the the most important update ever was... well probably the hitpoints from 10s to 100s, because with hundreds you can become much more specific on how much damage is taken (223 is more specific then 22)

Favorite updates would be some graphics options such as ground blending, quests etc.

Least favorite would be EoC, armor graphical rework, Grand Exchange.

Most important: Returning of free trade/wildy.

 

like your favorites, but i'm curious about you thinking the grand exchange is a bad update? it seemed pretty good to me, but then again i'm not one for prices and grand exchange camping so.... oh and I completely forgot about the return of free trade and wildy :/

 

Although the G.E update was very useful, the problem with it was that it completely killed of mass-market places littered all around Runescape. The way it was pre-G.E was that there would be loads of people trading in places like Fally banks and gardens, varrock banks, castle wars, the whole of seers, catherby, lumbridge castle bank, edgeville etc. and they would all have their specific type of item being sold. E.g. in fally gardens it was expensive armours, rares and more, in catherby it was raw fish, cooked fish and fishing supplies, in Seers it was flax, bowstrings, armour like dragon, and all barrows.

For me, the G.E ruined that part of the game, and other areas that usually saw more business and activity in general became very quiet. That's why the G.E is a difficult one, you can make good arguments on both sides.

 

Also the GE allowed more and more people to easily ruin and kill prices on certain items, by buying them out. Before prices were more stable and you could catch a deal by hoping worlds to find that one random kid selling that 1k coal you needed....

The only thing I liked about the grand exchange was for question when you needed those random hard to find items. Very useful!

 

Favorite update was the update from classic, my least update was the nex update now you fight the bitch with mage wtf naw lame, but all of my favorites were the graphic updates kept getting better and better but another one of my worst was the EOC so bad to much graphic input.

 

Least favorites: Eoc, Graphical updates, Armour updates.

Most favorite: Everything prior to December 2007.

Most important: I think the grand exchange was extremely important, it saves a lot of time and is much easier. However I did trading before the grand exchange.

 

Least Fav: Dragon Boots, Godswords, DFS, Pirate Hut agro, Axe Hut agro. Everything post mid 2007, even thought I quit late 2007.

Most Important: Classic, major bot ban during 2001>RS2>TB and Whips being released.

Fav: Ancients, Games Room no randoms (autoalching all day).

 

Best : Probably the EoC. Love how it's changed the game.

Worst : Dungeoneering It's a Minigame not a skill...

 

Favorite: Bringing free trade back
Least favorite: Nerfing combat today
Most important: The first botnuke.

Least favorite: todays combat update @@@@ (+SOF)
Most important: Graphical update (-08)

 

Imagine Runescape was still called DeviousMUD..

Favourite: Summoning in 2008 I think it was.
Least favourite: When they took away free trade, the newer graphical rework and EoC.
Most Important: Got to be RSC to RS2, right?

 

Favorite : DUNGEONEERING, it makes the game playable and is the only reason I still play.

Least favorite: EoC, armor graphics rework

Most important: DG/free trade

 

yeah those random items like feathers -.- (hate those feather)

yeah sure now catherby is empty and stuff, but g.e is full pretty much and you can buy/sell most things immediately

why whips? they are just another weapon, and there was a bot ban during 2001?

I agree with him though, GE ruined some parts of the game. It also made getting 99s alot easier. Before GE you had to make forum posts, interact with people. If you wanted to bank 99 smithing for example, you'd have to buy from a hundred different people instead of making one offer in the GE.

Also, 10 people standing in a bank selling/buying items just made the place seem busier, more alive. Just look at how often you have a conversation in a bank nowadays.
