Andrew gower owns 0% of Jagex now and he's made a new company called Fen Research Ltd. where he hopes to stay small and out of what Jagex has gotten into. Do you think RuneScape is screwed? Jagex is owned 85% by Investors and FenResearch is 90% Andrew 10% Jagex

I see this as another nail in the coffin. Runescape will die soon.

 

Damn man, I think hes right rs is getting pretty fucked up.

 

I thought this was old news since 2010? It's sad that he is not a part of Jagex on paper, but i'm sure he still has a part in the company somehow. It's probably the reason why Jagex has been less active in pursuing bots since the wildy and ft came back, as Andrew Gower was always a massive hater of bots, and now hes gone, Jagex care more about money than eliminating them.

It's just a bunch of sponges in the money pool from now on, the majority of shares are held by investors, not developers. And you know how investors like to run things....$$$$$$$$$$$

 

Well if he owns 0% now then there must be a new head honcho. This could be good for RS as this new leader may be more inspired and may want to revitalize the game.

Mark Gerhard is still the CEO. They are only new investors and are not part of the development team.

Runescape is actually getting pretty decent profit atm. Its mostly because only the f2p bots are banned. They rarely touch p2p, so many bots bring profit to the game. This is one of the reasons why they dont fight so aggresively against bots. There is no need to panic, as the rsgp market depends only on the end customers who buys RSGP for real life cash. And as there are no evidence that those consumers are going to stop buying RSGP, there shouldnt be any discussion about "the end of the Gielinor". LOL.

 

That's sad to see what Jagex has become.

Spot on, spot on. Runescape is still a business, so whatever makes the money.

 

Since investors are now the majority control of the company, Mark Gerhard has to make decisions that will help the company create a profit, in order to keep the investors happy. Unfortunately, those choices are not always (rarely, in fact) what makes the players happy.

 

Really think runescape cares about being a decent game? Like every other company, money speaks louder than progress.
