    Dragon types - Discussion

So, over the course of RuneScape, we've seen dragon types from Green/Blue/Red/Black to Iron/Steel/Mith/Frost/King. It only makes sense for them to also implement Addy/Rune dragons. Well, do you think it will be a future update? When do you think this update will occur?

Also, being a devoted merchant myself, do you think in that sense it will give a lead on merchants to stock up on SoLs, bolts, combat runes etc. (this maybe a spoiler to many, but I have many techniques I use myself already so i'll live) when those items are in high demand to kill these dragons? We all know mages love to kill dragons. I felt like I'd like to share this with the community and get your input.

    Discuss.

I doubt they will add addy/rune dragons. The new monsters they add for PvM are usually quest/slayer related and addy/rune dragons don't sound like the typical names they put for these monsters.

I would like to see it happen but I doubt it will.

I would assume you were lying or your friend is bsing you. I don't see this happening anything soon, not the mention if you were to stock up on mage gear I do not think you would see a significant increase whatsoever. Although it is alright to kill dragons with mage everyone that plays often knows that it is much quick to kill them with strong melee gear.

As long as jagex doesn't go out of business, I believe that adamant and rune dragons will be added at one point in time in one way or another. It makes more sense to add them than not to add them.

I guarantee you if this update occurs, items like SoLs will go up 250-300% in price. And you're wrong there. If they released the dragons, their combat would be much higher, making trips last not long at all using melee equipment (unless they're pretty much maxed). This is where pures who use mage safe-spotting as an advantage, especially with SoL. Thus, allowing you to stock up more per trip, kind of like when mith drags were released.

Well if Rune dragons do come out and they drop like 5 Runite Bars per kill like other dragons drop 5 or so of their respective bars, they'd be VERY profitable.

the OT of this tread isn't about an update.. It's more of a "What if" sort of thing..

OT: don't think the will introduce Addy or Rune drags anytime soon. If they ever do introduce them though, i could see rune armor/weapon prices dropping tremendously though.

I don't think that jagex would be that typical.
there will be addy/rune dragons, but there will be a catch probably.

I think that it wouldn't be wise to add these, because of what the poster before me said - it would throw the economical balance off. Unless they're incredibly hard to kill.

And I have insider info that Obama is going to nuke the world 10 seconds before his final day of presidency. That is how ludicrous the statement about the Jmod insider information sounds.

According to the names of the current dragons it would make sense for them to implement new ones by the name of addy/rune, but I just don't see that happening. There are loads of dragons all around runescape already so there isn't any need to make more.

Ok, I definitely think you went a little far there. Just make sure to look back at this and remember it in a few months when the update is released, and I'll do the same at the final day of Obama's presidency.
Yes and no. I don't think armour would be a very frequent drop, but more of bars like mith drags. Armour will never drop too much, b/c you don't profit smithing full sets.
Well, it could always be added in with Dungeoneering, with high requirements, so they're not just accessible to everyone. Obviously they would be higher combat than any other dragon in the game currently. Maybe these are the kinds of updates Jagex needs to take out all the surplus of gold in the game.
