RuneScape coming to an end?

Thoughts?

I logged in today and I noticed the whole Grand Exchange was full of auto talking bots for gold websites. I don't see many legit playing anymore.

 

It's the rapture! No that's just how it's been for ages.

OT: I think there are a lot of legit players there but they dont feel like talking over all the bots, and people arent afraid of getting banned for botting advertisements so more and more are coming up.

 

That's just in free worlds, you don't really see that in members world which is where most legit players play.

Runescape will do something soon i think to have a big crack down on these bots!

 

I honestly think that it is. There is not much sense of accomplishment at all really. Every time you level up a skill, it doesn't matter because so many people have those same skills plus a ton more because now almost everyone bots. Not to mention the fact that wealth means almost nothing, considering that everyone buys their GP so they have all of the gear they need. It seems like the vast majority of people use Runescape as just a source of income, opposed to pure enjoyment like it used to be. Everywhere you go you see bots, GP merchants, autotalkers, and bought accounts and hardly anybody just playing for the good fun of it. I have slowly lost motivation to play, although I keep trying to find new things to do, but there is so much repetition. I really wish that Jagex would implement some update that would have a drastic impact on gameplay, something that requires less repetition and more skill and determination. But it would have to be something they could really change how everyone plays. Don't get me wrong I still play and want to play, but I feel like I have already experienced everything there is to experience, I'm always looking for new things to do. Although it may be because I don't play with many in game friends, that may make a difference. Although I really think Jagex needs to do something big about all of the problems.

^ Not everyone bots, and people do play for pure fun still, its just they haven't been around as long as some of us to get bored of the game. There will always be the new players that don't bot, but yes there does seem to be a lot of bots now and it is quite annoying.

 

I have a friend who is 8 levels away from a 100% botted maxed skill account. If that doesnt show how bad this game has gone in the crapper idk what does. Achievements have all lost their value, the economy is soo fucked up a paper hate worth 4 billion....I dont dont see this game lasting more than few years max.

 

The worlds filled with auto talkers at the ge are usually w1,2, and mostly all of the free to play worlds. As for the ratio of legit players to people that bot. I'd say its about 50/50, possibly even more people that bot.

 

I am starting to hate runescape. Not as much as fun due to no one legit plays. I cannot interact with anyone due to majority of the people, bot. I can not occupy myself while training skills.

Runescape is coming down.. definently.

OT: I can see the game dying, but not for another few years at least.. right now it just seems like the decline of Runescape

 

I agree to an extent. There still is a fair number of people who enjoy the game and play for real, but for the most part, the game has been out for so long that many have lost interest. Just look at any patch of yew trees, the Varrock East bank, the West Bank mine, or Draynor. FULL of bots. I don't think it's coming to an end, but the availability of free bots (powerbot / RSbuddy) is taking a toll on the whole game.

 

I don't think so.. I think this a start to a new beginning.. I used to hate grinding out skills to make money.. now my mule bots just collect the money for me and I get to have fun doing my favorite things on rs.

 

Runescape has already reached its end.

 

Most gold advertising websites are in F2P. There is still a lot of people who play the game legitly.

 

There are still 170k people online at a time.

 

I agree with this. I don't like the direction that Jagex and the community are going in.

 

Runescape has just been going downhill is general..I mean the economy, the community, the updates... All failing.

As for the auto typers, they've been around for awhile, phishing / gold sale site advertisements will never stop.
