Divine Vs Elysian for PvM

Hi all,

I was wondering which is better specifically for bossing and general PvM.

If you do not know the shield's effects, please don't bother voting lol.

 

divine obv. it reduces there hits.

 

Counter argument to this would be Divine also deducts from your prayer, while Elysian reduces damage you take (by less) and does not deduct from your prayer.

 

ive owned both at a certain point on time and it depends this answer.

i found that divine was better for solo's but elysian better in small teams of 2-3. anything larger id also use ely so for me i'd say ely is the overall better pvm shield but soloing id take divine

 

Ah thanks that helps a lot, I rarely bother solo'ing and when I do it is usually at the end of a group run when everyone has left, at Arma or something.

From that opinion it sounds like I'd be better off with an Ely, are there any opinions that differ from this one?

Go with the divine, the prayer loss is not that bad, bring extra prayer pots. It will always help you more then a ely in bossing. It will also be good for bossing if you have prayer on.

 

There is no competition, Divine is the PvM Spirit shield....

 

so while slaying a simple task you'd rather drain ur prayer away when its not required just cause it reduces damage. id rather ely for reasons i stated above people just assume divine is THE BEST just because of its hefty price tag when in actually fact its only best at soloing

 

Use a divine as long as your not in huge teams, just bring extra prayer potions to counter its effects.

 

Elysian for low risk PvM (slayer tasks, general training, weak bosses).

Divine for high risk PvM (any heavy hitting or excessively dangerous boss).

Although I do not recommend it, an elysian can be used instead of a divine in many high risk PvM situations.

 

Yeah, even when I go bossing the bosses I go to I don't really consider "high risk".

I don't do corp anymore, haven't been to Nex. The only bossing I can really see myself doing much in the near future is Arma and Sara.

I suppose you can take fairly frequent damage at Arma, but that is dependant on the trip and if the minions decide to hate you or not

 

You don't have to worry about constant damage as much as you do high single hits (which there really aren't any of with armadyl and saradomin). An elysian sounds more than sufficient enough for the bosses you frequent.

 

Farcast is right (of course) but is a whore because he's not on msn.
Personally I don't like the Divine. I think its effect makes it worse than the Elysian. The Ely is my favorite. based on it's percentage of assistance. Sure the Divine will help more, but at a cost like prayer? Nty.
