Runescape World #200

What if?....


Fagex comes out with a new world. It's called world 200. It's just like all of the other servers from head to toe but with two changes...
-The world is local to your machine and the max players are 1.
-Your character on this world isn't linked to other worlds - you start fresh.

Basically, it's single player RuneScape. If you want something, you need to get it your own damn self. Every skill is now extremely useful (exerpt firemaking) and will need to be raised. Not a single skill will be proved useless, but some will be more important than others. PVP areas are filled with monsters instead that will challenge your very ability as a player.

Also... what if it was Oblivion graphics? Cod graphics? And first person? Just imagine RuneScape being sold for $60 as a PS3 release...

That would be really cool, but I doubt it'll ever happen.

On the other hand, it must be pretty god damn annoying to have to go find every single item you need, since the G.E. wouldn't work.

 

It would be cool to track highscores for something like this. I've always wanted to see WoW like servers where you character restarts at level 3 on that particular server and everyone else starts at level 3. Either one would be interesting.

 

Could become a long ass rpg.

 

Why would you want to play a single player MMORPG? let alone start a fresh account..

That would probably be the longest single player campaign ever...

I think the idea would be amazing.

Multiplayer would consist of going to events (PKing, GWD, Corp, DA etc)
You wouldn't be allowed to level skills in multiplayer though, thus keeping the single player aspect of the game there.


It would never happen, I don't think there would be enough interest in that.

Plus, if you get banned, you're fucked.

There would be no bots (but you can have people train by hand)
Economy would be expensive as hell (able to trade in multiplayer, no GE though or there may be).

Once again, I really like the idea, but not sure if it would work.

Wonder if it would be one of those games where 360 players could play against PC players.

The controls would be shit though.

So many combos and buttons to press in order to eat, attack, pray etc.

You really need a mouse to play RS.

 

That might be very cool but the trading is one of the things that makes Runescape.

 

I like this idea because it actually forces you to have fun it makes you play the game, ya know use the shops that are there, i mean their there for a reason. Everyones like ill just buy something at the G.E., i think itd be fun to actually have to get those items. Great idea Jagex!

Would be so good, if you sped up the skills so they were like the same timing as Oblivion!
Hard to implement the controls because of the vast complexities involved!

And just imagine Dungeoneering, how sick would that be
There would have to be soo many more NPCs though, would be too lonely with the amount we have now haha! And also how the fuck would anyone get a spirit shield, soloing the Corp beast is hard as it is but getting all the items first and the skills? Next level hard

 

would take WAY to long. to get every item yourself? that would suck.

BUT! I like the oblivion graphics!

 

See people are so quick to point out whats wrong with it, obviously its not gonna be the same thing as the pc version.... there will obviously be changes, like people are going "oh dis goblin is to hard by myslef jagex sucks im an idiot!".........there obviously gonna freakin bring the level down so one person can do it........think before you say something stupid please

 

If Runescape turned single player it would be a lot more challenging and every skill would be useful. Even firemaking would be useful because what are you going to cook your food on? Although single player is a good idea it would also be boring. Seriously, who wants to reach a 99 and not have a party for it right?
The whole point of runescape in my opinion is to brag about your accomplishments to various other people you meet in game.

 

Firemaking level 1 = fire
Firemaking level 90 = fire

In my opinion it would be cool if there was loads of say 10 players max worlds, where me and my mates could play. So we could all work together but as soon as you enter wildy all worlds connect to become a giant pvp. So you and your mates can all prepare (one smithing, one fishing) and all work towards owning the wildy.

There would be a few items and quests you could never get/do.


Shield of aarav being the main thing that would hold you back from A LOT of stuff.

It'd still be nice either way though.

 

I would simply quit if jagex did that.

 

I like the idea of making RS a console game. But the whole 1 player thing is just pointless.
