How Did I Get Hacked?

Last night I tried to log onto my staker pure only to have it tell me the password is incorrect.(this is my staking thread if you are curious http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1111332 )

I had been on the account 10 minutes earlier. I then went onto my other pure and checked the clan chat, it didn't show my staker as being online.

I have a Mac computer and it is the only computer I play rs on. The only bot clients I use are rsbuddy and nexus.

I have never been phished or visited a phishing website.

This account is logged into using an email, which no one except one other person knows( Keep reading.).

That one other person is the guy who sold me the account as a level 3 on tutorial island with a rare name. (I won't release his name due to him getting a bad reputation after this)

I bought it in February, I have recoveries, all the previous passwords, first isp, creation date, etc.

I really am stumped as to how this account got it's password changed. I have come to the conclusion that the only possible way I got hacked is if he recovered the account. Yet I find it very hard to believe that he would manage to recover it with recovs, membership details, and all that other stuff set.
The guy who sold it to me is a very reputable person, and I doubt he would even remember the log in email after 3 months.

I have sent in 6 appeals so far, all of them denied for NO REASON.

Anyone mind shedding some light on to how this might have happened?

 

It's been recovered by 'that guy' for sure. No other possible way if everything you say is true. If you're a Syther, he must've seen your success and decided this would be the best time to loot your account.

There is nothing you can do, to keep the account secure from the original owner.

No matter what extent you go, to keep it safe.
It will never be safe.


Especially if it's an email login, and it's his email.

 

Anyone else use your computer? Otherwise I heard Rsbuddy and powerbot are very unsafe to keep your username and passwords in. If none of that means anything most likely it was recovered. Who knows people could sell lvl 3's just so people put all the time and effort in training it and gaining wealth on the account.

Trust doesnt mean much over the internet. I have read that some of some very trusted people on here have scammed. With your own appeals being denied I would assume it could have only been recovered by someone with better details

Just clicked the link. That is a horrible thing to do is show your wealth on any account. Even more so on an account you bought off someone.

 

I guess he must have seen my thread. The account was wearing about 34m, but it had a bank pin set.

I really don't care about the money. This account just has ideal staking stats for me.

Oh well.

The email it was logged into with wasn't even registered yet. I would be amazed if he actually recovered it with recovs and all that stuff there. But it's the only explanation...

 

yeah he recovered it.and if hes on the same IP he created the acc on then you will not get it back most likely:/

No I didn't recover it but several of my sold accounts were recovered by my fucking brother. Already helped I Wield Men get his back.

 

you can recover and account with JUST the email, sorry for your loss.
