Who here knows about the recovery questions update?

This update meant that you can't remove your recoveries anymore. It also sped up the rate at which you can recover your account.

Before you could remove recoveries using the account recovering method but that doesn't work anymore. If you have recovered your account within the past 2 weeks and know about the update please say so.

 

Haven't used the new recovery system but I have seen a lot of topics about it lately.

From what I hear, one big obstacle people are having in recoveries is their IP's location in relation to the account's original creation IP's location. A lot of people say they are getting denied just because of that.

Another obstacle people are finding is the e-mail - yes there is an option to recover without it, however some people can't find that option and also I believe you only get the option on your third attempt at recovering (could be wrong about that part).

Another thing I have heard (need confirmation on this one!) is that recovery questions update quicker with the new system if you change them.

When you recover an account, it asks for a recovery email.
You don't need to enter anything, just click Next.
It'll ask again.
Click next
Then you will be directed to recover your account.

I'm trying to recover my old main, and it keeps getting denied for random information, yet I enter the same info over and over.
It's flawed.

I've had it say I entered p2p/creation/recovs wrong
Then I re-do it with exact same info, and it works.

 

But you can't remove the recoveries right?

 

No, just change them.

Get your account locked.
Once it's locked, you unlock it.

And your recoveries are gone.

 

That's the risky way to do it lol, I tried that with one of my lower level pures and now Jagex won't unlock it.

All I know is it is much harder to Recover accs now.
