Account Hacked???

So I came in this morning to play on my lvl 129 and I got on and it wasn't accepting my last password, so I tried a previous password just in case. It still wouldn't log in, so I went and submitted a recovery and when I put in the password on the account they said it was wrong. I tried another email address I use commonly just in case I got mixed up and it didn't work. The only place I have ever entered my password was RSBuddy, and coincidentally that was yesterday. Is there possibly any connection?

 

I've never heard of anything about RSBuddy stealing passwords?

Maybe you got done by a Java-driveby? A keylogger?

Virus scan your computer, what anti-virus software do you have?

 

How can you not be sure of the the real account email or password if you just logged in yesterday?

 

I use AVG, but my internet is so slow that I couldn't have possibly downloaded any viruses due to the fact that I haven't downloaded anything and there are only 3 site that I go to. Sythe, RS, and Poet Sanctuary.

I was doing it just in case, just making sure. I know what the password and email address was, but I just had to check. I've never been hacked before so I was surprised when I couldn't log in this morning.

 

Firstly, was it your own account that you've made from scratch? If not, its possible someone you got it from recovered it. Also if it's not yours you may not be able to recover it because of the IP address difference (have the original owner try to recover).

However if it is your original account, you may have been keylogged or RATed. Have you downloaded anything besides a bot client lately. Have you clicked on any random website that someone sends to you via msn? Have you accepted any weird type of java plug in when you went to any weird website? Have you tried to watch someones stream video of them pking or something stupid like that?

All these ways are possibilities. If you had a bank pin on your account, but you never entered it in the rsbuddy system, i doubt it was the client (also in general i doubt rsbuddy would take your shit). You may have downloaded a corrupt version of Rsbuddy somewhere unsafe?

I'm just throwing out options for you to think about what you did in the past few days/weeks to trace your steps.

 

I am not the original owner so it could have been recovered, and I downloaded the client from the official RSBuddy site. I have dial up so there are no videos or downloading for me. My appeal was denied, I just got the email. I supposed the original owner has recovered it, because I got a week or so ago. I didn't pay for it so I am not out cash, and I didn't put any cash on it. I put a one month pin on it, recovs, and email but I supposed that wasn't enough.

I would do an extra scan from Malware bytes. What script were you using, did it require you entering in your account information besides whilst logging in?

 

No, it was only the log in. Though I do need a good scan, where can I download malwarebytes?

Computer infected / phished / bot infected / account recovered if you're not the original owner that's the most likely option.
