The Runescape Tips and Knowledge Base - Please add! :)

I don't know if this will shoot off, but I was just thinking we could start a compilation of Runescape tips and basic knowledge, or things to do with the game, that you remember, and wish you hadn't done!

When you post the tip, I can put it in the OP and eventually we can have a nice list of tips, helpful tricks and some humorous past experience advice.

Obviously, I'll start.

The List​

1) You will always forget something really important, in a place far away from any bank, just as you get to your destination.

2) Anti-dragonfire shield.

3) You never get rare drops.

4) Castle Wars always puts you on the team with all the noobs.

5) The person you're staking/PKing always gets the luckiest hits.

6) Lag.

7) Getting a 99 always takes twice as long as you'd originally intended.

8) Never show your cash stack to a poor player.

9) Kicking yourself for not secretly stockpiling hundreds and hundreds of party hats.

10) Girls don't play Runescape. Any who do, aren't girls.

11) When somebody accuses you of safing, you will not eat and die.
12) When you get a really good loot you'll get player-jumped and die
13) Phoenix necklaces will save your ass
14) A ring of life will save your life.
15) If you can't hit someone, they're a defense noob.
16) Ring of Wealths do nothing.
17) Don't multi-task while playing, JaGex strikes you with bad luck.
18) Bot, because Jagex doesn't give a fuck.
19) Always use a charged DFS, uncharged ones have horrible stats.
20) All high level players are no-lifers.
21) All people wearing granite plates are bots.

Please post any ideas at all, and I'll add to them!

This seems like a good idea, however it may be a good idea to limit people to one post or something. Simply because I see this thread becoming a big hub for post count boosting and eventually possibly promoting spam. Possibly having this in the spam forum may be a good idea too, considering some of the random / funny facts.

Anyways I will contribute one.

Both of these are untrue.

 

This thread isn't so much about truthfulness, rather fun ideas and stereotypes surrounding Runescape.

A fun-fact knowledge base, if you like.

 

Oh this is a good idea for a thread.

Having a skillcape immediately makes you better than everyone else.

If someone is wearing a trimmed cooking cape, the other 99 they have is fletching. Period

 

Every dragonkiller with 3 items is a bot.

 

23) If someone says doubling cash they are most likely scamming

24) Never play the trust game because most times they log out with your cash/items

25) Don't trust most people with your cash and items

26) Most 99 skills are botted now

27) Never sell your items at lowest price your making the prices drop!

28) Runescape is business

29) When in wilderness in high level be careful of clans

30) Cooking and Fletching are the easiest skills

31) If you are going to bury bones use a gilded altar

32) Don't go in multiple attacking wilderness without friends or you might die

33) people that say they are trimming Armour are scammers

34) Always respect Moderates

35) You can earn cash while training slayer

36) Flipping and Merching is a good way to earn cash

37) Dragons are good way to earn cash

38) Runecrafting takes forever

39) Sorc garden is pretty much full of all botters

40) Rock crabs are a good way to train

41) To earn some money when you start do strong hold of security

42) Dice game is risky don't get addicted

43) You can get fishing up quick by powerfishing salmon and trout

44) If you are going to go boss killing go as a group or you will pretty much get raped

45) Firemaking is just burning your cash

46) Jagex will never send you emails asking for your username or your password

47) If you set an email when you recover your account it can take a few minutes till you get it back

48) Make sure you set a bank pin it will help you not loose cash if you get scammed

49) Set recovery question it be helpful if you didn't set an email

50) Ice barrage will most like freeze you

51) pray is worth the money

52) When cutting magic tree most people there are bots

 

The best way to anti-rush is to wear full mystic, pre-venged and korasi
Mage tanks in f2p are useless unless your planing to bore the other opponent to death
After finishing all the quest defense for a turmoil zerker your def will be approximately 42
Hiding in plants are frown upon
Rare drops are only for people who pay jagex with years of membership.
It Approximately takes 3 and half a weeks to do 1-99 fish legit ( i did it ^^)
Vengeance deaths are bitches.

 

Never have a valuable item sitting next to the items you're alching in your inventory.
