What's the point of being a mod anyways? They don't really do anything...

There is no way to apply for being a mod. Jagex chooses you based on: Merits, Community Support, Reports. Sorry man, if your friend say's there is a way to apply for being a mod he is terribly wrong.

Don't continue to bot if you become a moderator. Good luck mate.

    (Just bot a different account)

Botting isn't a wise way to become a Moderator, and the application process is no longer available. The only way is to to have a solid account record, with a good amount of legit reports, good community involvement and a close relationship with both Jagex and other Mods (who can all recommend you).

The most important factor is the account record. Never expect to become a Mod if you have any black marks on any account that uses your IP

Don't fill out the application, it is most likely a phising website. If you ahve already put in an application then you should change your password as soon as possible. There is no way to apply for moderator, although in the PMod forum there is a topic where you can make recommendations. No applications though.

You cannot apply for a moderator position.
There is no option to apply.
You will be chosen if your "abilities" suits what Jagex wants.

There was a thread where you can show your 'interest' into becoming a player moderator, but that has been removed. You can't apply for the position anyways. Those websites where it states you can apply for moderator are fake and should not be trusted, they are phishers. You will be chosen from Jagex if you meet their required requirements. Maybe this guide will help you:

Jagex now picks Mods, a tip never say "I wanna be a mod," you completely ruin your chances. They want good people that can handle it, not random people doing everything they can to be one.
