Why does this happen....

This has been happening to me for the past couple months whenever I try to buy a membership using my Paypal account, really pisses me off

I've heard of it happening to other people too. Does anyone know why it happens? Or how it can be resolved?

 

What method do you use, a bit more detail would help

You probably do not have enough money in your paypal. Try putting an extra dollar onto your paypal. You have to pay the 1.00 dollar fee as well.

 

I've got exactly $10.00 in my account

 

Had the same problem with my mum's credit card. I emailed Jagex and they said it's their fraud detection system or something.. which really confuses me seeing I've used the card for ~2 years. I have a recurring membership on the same card that still renews every month while I cannot add a new membership to a different account. >_<

Edit: Yes, it's only been happening in the last few months.

 

I don't think you can have two accounts registered to one credit card...

 

It's happened to me many times, which makes me have to buy pins which gets annoying.

 

I've gotten to the point where I just buy Ultimate Game Cards at convenient stores. $20/3 months

Got some funny looks when I spent $200 on game cards the other day but whatever haha

 

I've had 3 at one stage, I canceled them last month to replace them with different accounts but I couldn't re-subscribe. I think the card may be a Debit Card, don't think that makes much difference though as there's always money in it.

 

Meh, well I've just sent Jagex an email, so I guess I'll see where this goes :/

 

So, their repsonse said that "You should check your Paypal account to make sure all the details are up to date," that and to "try using a different method of subscription instead"...

I checked my account, and I'm unable to find any outdated information, I'm still verified, and nothing seems out of the ordinary.

Have you bought a membership form that paypal and then had that account banned for botting?

 

It might be that if you use a credit card the dates on the card dont add up to the paypal or your paypal account may be flagged / suspicious activity of some sort, thats all I can think of

it happened to me 2 days ago wow its so annoying buying pins always the key.

 

Get some more money on your Paypal, there might be a hidden fee that Paypal wants to charge your for.

How many accounts are you using to get members with that paypal? That could also be the problem.

 

Is your paypal verified with a credit card or bank account?

I believe that they want your account verified for the automatic renewal function.

 

Had tha same problem and it pissed me off so bad i raged Jagex hard. Ive used tha same credit card for over 5 years and it stopped accepting it. U cant pay with paypal for more than one account unless its verified, so just buy a card at a local store.
