[COMPLETED][By Hand] [RS 07] Untrimmed Runecrafting Cape [He did it again!] [99/99]

Ever since 2007 Scape / Old School Runescape was released, I considered once again going for the most painstakingly tedious 99 available at the time (2007), Runecrafting.

--- Picture taken in RS a few yrs ago, not 07. I earned my partyhat set in the core game (now RS3) through Runecrafting. Because Partyhats mean nothing in 07, I am just doing it for that awesome untrimmed Runecrafting cape.

I got all 21M of my RC xp in the core game through the Abyss. Maybe it's called the abyss because of the ABYSmal XP gains there. 1k natures is like..9k xp .

ZMI made RC easier, but it was still an insanely rare 99 to have, once Runespan came out, it made the skill way too easy.

So here I am, in 07 Scape, and I'm going to do it again. I'm crazy. I'm going to get an Untrimmed Runecrafting cape via the Abyss, just like I did in actual 2007.

First thing is first, I haven't had free time til now to play Runescape, so I will have to train my character. My character is worth about 30M thanks to merchanting god wars dungeon items when they first came out.

My Rs 3 runecrafting progress thread is to make some extra GP to help fund my 07 account via swapping. You can read my full story there.

Possibly raising the following to make Abyss smoother:

I may need to train my combat stats even higher, I will likely need to get at least 70 defense to do the Abyss efficiently.

Starting Bank: 15M GP, Dragon Chain, Fury, Dragon Platelegs, Dragon Boots, Cannon, 5k Cannonballs, Guthix, Addy G, etc. etc.

GP Made off of just RC: 510m

Notable Quests Completed: Rune Mysteries (For RC of course!) Dragon Slayer (will come in handy to be able to use d hide body in abyss).

Any tips on quickly improving the above skills would be GREATLY appreciated. 07 is so much different than EoC and things that may seem like common sense I have LIKELY forgotten. So please, give me tips even if you think I might know it.

Hey man, posted on your rs3 thread when you opened; I wish you good luck I got too 91 back when 07 originally first came out, my friend was one of the first 3 people too 99 xD. It's definitely tedious and a lot of work, add my skype if you want someone to talk with once in awhile!

 

I saw that and appreciate it man, and I will definitely add you on Skype. This likely means that I won't make 1 million Natures in RS 3, I will likely cut it down as I don't need as much GP as I anticipated in 07...since RC is and always has been a money maker.

My RS 3 thread will stay up though, I am still getting 99 slayer and will still do a hefty amount of Natures in the core game too. But I have decided to put most of my RC effort into my 07 account. I was once ranked in the top 100 for the skill back when it wasn't watered down by stupid Runespan.

The most annoying part for me is not the RC itself for 07, it's getting the stats to be ready to go do it.

I will also be completing Heroes Quest so that I can recharge my own glories.

Yeah man! I figured it'd be better to devote my RC energy to 07 since that makes a lot more sense.

I'll still hit you up for swaps whenever I need em, which I will.

Currently just woodcutting and firemaking. Will hit 60 as soon as I can then move onto another thing.

Probably training for Heroes quest after that, or combat.

 

I should finish Woodcutting + Firemaking today.

Then I'll start thieving.

progress so far today: 54/60 Woodcutting 50/60 firemaking. Woodcutting is slow right now <_< but I'm still aiming for 60/60 by end of day (only 5 pm right now)

Woodcutting is done. Firemaking will be simple . Logs are in the bank for probably 62-63.

Will take an hour or two to wrap that up.

 

With my current stats, abyss Runecrafting isn't too bad. I could definitely benefit from higher thieving though. The agility and thieving obstacles are unfortunately rampant.

Has anyone done Heroes that would be willing to recharge my glories? I might skip training for it

 

Almost 44? I'm not a huge fan of RC, either.

 

I'll hit 44 today easily it looks like. Doing Chaos runes now so already turning a profit.

 

Like back when 07 was released it was so much easier once you hit 44, just to sit at the alter and whore yourself off too runners.. xD

 

Been a busy weekend spent outside because it was so gorgeous. Also been out of commission with a nasty cold. Hopefully hitting 44 today and starting doing Natures.

 

Wow..nice goal...I could never get past level 72 rc in my entire rs career. Good luck and I will be checking this thread often =D

I'm finally getting over my nasty cold and am doing nothing today except making natures. My goal today is at least 5k natures if not 10k. If I hit 50 RC I'll have to go get my large pouch from the abyss, pouch collecting has proven to be a real bitch at my combat level. Took me an hour it felt like to get the medium pouch.

 

This is a long long long road but I'll be sure to pass by this thread every now and then to see those level ups. Best of luck to you man.
