Roshinante Providing False Information/Scamming

Explanation of the trade: Paid Roshi $60 to do my Placements as he made it sound as if i'd get placed into plat 5.
How they scammed: Assure'd me I'd atleast get plat 5, But ended up in Gold 5

fro, what i read with his wording, he wasn't garunteeing you plat, it said there is a chance for plat, Now did you play fot plat 5, or did you pay for his g5 package?

There was no gold 5 or plat 5 packages, He was saying he'd duo with a high account, which he was duoing with a diamond 1 saying even if he went 4/10 it would atleast get plat which it didnt. He went 8/10 and got gold 5. It seems quite obvious that he was trying to loop hole his answers by not correctly answering them but in the screenshot below I also said as long as it hits plat and he replies Yes.

Accused of: Providing false information(customer misunderstood) and scamming(job was completed)?

Customer brought placements and tried to scam after.

Providing false information and providing speculation on mechanics behind the rank system itself are two different things.

As he is desperately asking different boosters (which is irrelevant) now, whereas he could have asked them to confirm if my speculation (in regards to 'increased' chance of plat) was correct before confirming his purchase for his placement games to be played.


I never guaranteed him plat it was rather speculation, He came to me for 10 placement matches, and the 10 placement matches ended up as 8wins 2 losses which is in the estimate I gave at the beginning.

I said 7-10 wins and that we cannot decide his rank because it is random.

We achieved 8wins and 2 losses in the end resulting in gold 5 and hence the scam calling starts, threatening to ban me saying that he is well known on sythe etc.

TLR, Customer payed for 10 placement games, I said we will get 7-10 wins thats our usual which we did achieve.

Then the whole mmr and speculation conversation started.

We worked hard and achieved 8 wins and 2 losses, account gets gold 5, customer rages at me, threatens me and says I scammed him when he did not order PLAT 5 but placements.

We have had customers who were S5 last season getting Plat 5 and plat 1 after their placements you can go through my own thread to see the vouches from there.

The oceanic servers mmr is currently different to all the other servers due to the small populace which does affect the imbalances of mmr in solo q

right, but again im going off his wording, he did not promise plat but hinted at the chance of getting plat, also read that sticky i posted and post the screenshot of his skype id so i can verify if its him or not.

 

Hinting the chance even though I said As long as it gets plat he agree'd by saying yeah. Also going 4/10 'Would get you plat' Even though he went 8/10 which got me no where near plat.

Also I've talked to Bisuone(Known Booster on this website) She has informed me that you cannot get Plat while even going 10-0 even with a High MMR account on a fresh account. Therefore Roshinante was Providing False information.

Also Picture below shows him showing his thread with a threatening post below which he removed and to rub it in my face that he had gain $60.

the way i see it, he don't promise plat, he just simply stated you had a chance to get it, i will let other mods chime in on this, as i am abit hungover and may be missing something, will go post in the Staff lounge and see what others think.

 

I've just spoken to Bisuone She told me their is no chance what so ever to even get plat on a fresh level 30 the highest you can get is Gold 3-5. So It's clear that he provided false information, and Like I said 'Aslong as it gets plat' he replies yes, Isn't it clear that he was providing false information if he went 8/10 and claims that a 4/10 can get to plat if they were duoing with a high account which he was?

 

I don't play League, so what I'm gonna say is this -

Roshi did indeed give the hope that there's indeed a chance of plat ranking in this situation. The only way that's is a problem if this is indeed impossible given the situation. I don't mean its unlikely, I mean if this raise to plat is impossible even with a perfect completion of the 10 games, then Roshi was ineed handing out false info to promote his sale to this user.

That being said, there will be no bans, HOWEVER if this was indeed impossible then it was used as a ploy to promose the sale based off of lies and thus if I see it again from Roshi then i'll be giving Roshi a TWC for lying to promote sales.

However, if its possible then from now on I'd like to see Roshinate tell his buyers that its possible yet highly unlikely.

If someone with extensive LoL knowledge could answer my question I'd highly appreciate it.

 

Yeah so apparently given this situation, it is impossible. Roshi, got any explanation?

I will stop providing false/inaccurate information in regards with placement accounts if there is any other instance of this I will gladly accept a TWC or ban.

However it wasn't a ploy as it was an honest discussion on the mechanics behind mmr gain etc. We did stay true to what was discussed the account was duo queued with a diamond 1 account which does make the games drastically harder,
and we still won 8 games out of 10.

It is common knowledge that if a low account duo queues with a high account the high account gets little mmr gain while the low account gets the maximum gain.

You can get people to confirm that, with that people have taken advantage of duo queueing with a high account during placements to get the highest possible jump. In this case the customer had gotten Gold 5 when he could have easily gotten S5 S3 without our help.

There have been cases with silver 5/3 accounts jumping to Plat 5 and plat 1 we assume the silver 5s real mmr is 1200

1200 is where all accounts started in season 1 and 2 on league of legends now it is masked by LP and divisions so we cannot see the true numbers. (But for veterans they will know what I'm talking about)

Assuming that S5 accounts = Fresh accounts then that is the basis of my speculation.

Pretty much admitting he was giving out false information to get sales.

 

I told him to post that, this can be closed. You were happy with your service, and that was basically just a ploy to get a sale. It's unethical but it's not scamming, though I've warned Roshi that if I hear that he does it again, he will be TWC'd and possibly banned if shady things like this continue.
