    Response to Benjamham

Well apparently I can't post on the thread, but benjam is so tangled up in his report that none of it makes sense anyways. Either way, I have not been contacted by benjam once since this started, so I don't think its fair for him to continue saying the "user has not responded". Contacting me to confirm that would probably be a smart idea. Moving on, I'm posting my reasoning here, all of this can be 100% backed up by evaluating the recovery system/process @ jagex.

I'm extremely busy with renovations/moving houses so I don't have a lot of time.

[2014-05-20 12:59:06 PM] I_Mark_I: Typically when I sell an account (I've sold about 30 or so with no issue)
[2014-05-20 12:59:27 PM] I_Mark_I: I have a shared email with the user so they can change pws and set jag, but I can follow up with them if there's proof the account was stolen
[2014-05-20 12:59:46 PM] I_Mark_I: it makes my life much easier when trying to keep track of so many accounts, otherwise they can simply change the email and request a refund.
[2014-05-20 1:00:40 PM] I_Mark_I: The cheapest accounts (like the one I sold to benjam) are usually the most trouble as they don't have as much invested in the account and the users try more often to scam me, I had a guy tell me his account was stolen and when I replied I'd email jagex to confirm any changes in IP he quickly stopped
[2014-05-20 1:01:10 PM] I_Mark_I: First off, benjam changed the password to the registered email as soon as I sold him the account, you can see that in the email logs
[2014-05-20 1:01:24 PM] I_Mark_I: he then further tried to vilify me by saying he didn't contact me as I recovered the email
[2014-05-20 1:01:33 PM] I_Mark_I: though you can see in the email logs the ONLY time the email password was changed
[2014-05-20 1:01:37 PM] I_Mark_I: was after he posted the report
[2014-05-20 1:02:15 PM] I_Mark_I: He can confirm he changed the password on April 28, so the logs clearly state he didn't change the password (and nobody else did) until he tried signing into, which only proves he put in a fake password 6 times just for the picture.

Here are the email activity logs for reference: http://puu.sh/8Rg0O

    As Benjam said,
"Also he does not explain why he recovered the recovery email (which was the reason that I started a dispute instead of talking to the user first)"

Of course I don't have to explain, as the email logs show I never did.
^ This already destroys his accusation that I stole the email. You have the password in your notepad, so its 100% correct! I wonder why it doesn't work when the email logs (I can let a staff member on the email) clearly state you were the only person who changed the password.

    As Benjam said,
"He may be correct that the account has been accessed numerous times in the last few weeks but this was not me accessing the account."
Great, someone else has been actively playing the account since the day you purchased it. Now that we've confirmed I have not stolen the email and recovered the account, the only explanation is a virus/hacking of some sort. Therefore, I'd like to refer to this scam report against KMJT in an identical situation where he was not held liable. http://www.sythe.org/report-scammer-archive/1699016-reporting-kmjt.html
It's not my fault the email was somehow accessed as you said you changed the password right away.

[2014-05-20 1:02:40 PM] I_Mark_I: The other thing is that when you have an email set on an account, recovering it isn't easy
[2014-05-20 1:03:56 PM] I_Mark_I: if an email registered to an account just simply changes from [email protected] to [email protected] without the account being locked
[2014-05-20 1:04:33 PM] I_Mark_I: the only way to do this is via going to account management and changing the email, this is done by verifying the change on the currently registered email and the new email they want to set it to
[2014-05-20 1:04:50 PM] I_Mark_I: There are just too many holes here to point out, you can runetrack the account name he confirmed he purchased
[2014-05-20 1:05:00 PM] I_Mark_I: and it has been consistently playing since the day of purchase
[2014-05-20 1:05:05 PM] I_Mark_I: after quite some inactivity prior to sale
[2014-05-20 1:05:17 PM] I_Mark_I: I don't know how I can further emphasize this, he has the account
[2014-05-20 1:05:53 PM] I_Mark_I: you can check my vouches and I've had many, many $400 - $600 accounts sold in the past
[2014-05-20 1:06:39 PM] I_Mark_I: Another thing that makes me suspect his ultimate goal was a refund is he was not entirely happy with the purchase
[2014-05-20 1:06:49 PM] I_Mark_I: he got what he paid for, but he decided it wasn't what he wanted
[2014-05-20 1:07:10 PM] I_Mark_I: I tried figuring out a way to "upgrade" or "replace" the account but we could not come to an easy solution
[2014-05-20 1:07:33 PM] I_Mark_I: and out of the blue I get a phone call saying he's posted a scam report on one of the cheapest accounts I've sold to date
[2014-05-20 1:09:00 PM] I_Mark_I: When there's an account lock, I deal with it easily and help the buyer unlock the account, and it rarely has made it to the report section
[2014-05-20 1:09:32 PM] I_Mark_I: and when I was busy for 3 days and couldn't help a buyer, roary oversaw the resolution where I unlocked the account shortly afterward
[2014-05-20 1:10:05 PM] I_Mark_I: The fact of the matter is when you go to the appeal page and input the account username, there is still a registered email on the account, and the account has been consistently playing since purchase
[2014-05-20 1:10:43 PM] I_Mark_I: If he reported a lock of the account to me on Skype, I'd understand its an autolock because of geo change on the account
[2014-05-20 1:11:00 PM] I_Mark_I: a case where I'm liable and have no problem helping the buyer
[2014-05-20 1:11:34 PM] I_Mark_I: this guy wanted a refund from day one where he was not happy with the account and acted very shady in changing the email right away. He had almost an entire month to change the account's registered email to anything of his
[2014-05-20 1:12:13 PM] I_Mark_I: I'd like to see if some other staff can also take a look and we can get their opinion on the situation. We've confirmed he has the account/ lost it to a hack or virus. Now he's just trying to make me aimlessly waste my time during a really stressful period for me.

Now, I can give a go at recovering the account (my geo location will assist in this) however this will take longer as the account is not "locked", which is how every other account I've resolved was. It's still registered to one of his emails so I'll have to be contacting jagex directly to remove the email, then make a password reset request, which could take quite a while.

No worries, take your time with the recovery, just get it done and once you do, submit a ban dispute and you'll be unbanned right away.
