Have to buy laptop for university

I'm looking to buy a laptop for university and I think I settled on a 13in MacBook pro with these specs:
    • Intel Core i5
    • Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz
    • 8GB 1866MHz LPDDR3 memory
    • 256GB PCIe-based flash storage1
    • Intel Iris Graphics 6100
    • Built-in battery (10 hours)2
    • Force Touch trackpad
Do you think I would be able to run 07RS, RS3, CSGO and League of Legends on it? Please don't say "oh build a desktop and bring it to university" if I were able to bring my desktop to university, I would.

    Thank you!

I have the same Macbook and I can run RS3 and 07 on it, Idk about CSGO or LoL.

It does heat up fairly quickly though when running 07.

    You misspelled Trashbook.

I'm not a fan of Macbooks; they're overpriced, and you will always find a better laptop from other companies for the same price or lower.

Although judging the specs on that Macbook; it should be able to play the games you mentioned. Don't expect an terrific experience.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head.

The graphics processing capabilities in Macbooks is sub-par and CPU-driven (onboard). You'll be able to run LoL on medium at 30-40 fps, CSGO on low at 30-40 as well, and RS should run fine. Don't expect stellar performance. Imo you're wasting a shitload of money. The PC equivalent cost wise would get you something substantially better, but likely with 2/3 of the battery performance. It's a worthwhile tradeoff for me personally but if battery life is important to you, Macs have almost everyone beat.

You should look into other brands, if you're gonna use it on university then battery life shouldn't matter too much? (Like 2-3 hours is enough) since there are outlets?

I think another thing to consider when you look at eveything is how long you're wanting this computer to last. Obviously you're going to say 5+ years but you need to be realistic with yourself. Even though Macbooks are overpriced for the hardware you get, look to your older classmates that are graduating and see the types of computers they have. I would genuinely be surprised if you found many, if any people still using the same PC laptop they came to college with. On the flip-side, I have seen plenty of Macbooks last 5-10 years, with great battery life and portability.

It all depends on what you really want to do though. The MBP is going to get you through college, and then some no questions asked. Are you going to be able to Game on it? Maybe. Will it be to a decent standard? Maybe on some low requrement games for a few years. Will they look as good as they could be with a similarly priced PC or Windows laptop? No.

I always recommend what I did to most friends in a similar boat to you. Take the $1800 you would have used on a MBP and do something else with it. Grab a nice portable laptop like a Macbook Air, and then Pick up a decent gaming laptop / desktop second-hand. You'll get a nice PC / laptop to game on at home, and you'll have a nice portable laptop to use while you're out at class, at the library etc.

I've got the same computer and am 100% satisfied with it. LoL runs absolutely fantastic (120+ fps at low detail). Battery life's great. Apple support's great. Longevity is wonderful. The computer doesn't look like trash. I'd strongly recommend you buy the macbook pro.
