Overwatch just a shooting lol/dota game.

I tryed it on beta and i liked it might buy real version but its price is too high ..

 

The game isn't $60 its $40.

 

no one cares about the price just a horrid game thats the end of it

 

Its actually a fun game if you gave it a legitimate try.

I would be lying if I didn't admit that Overwatch was a "revamped" TF2, but then at the same time, who gives a fuck if it is? I mean when it boils down to it, are all MOBA's "clones" of HoN? All FPS "clones" of Doom or Quake or whatever the first FPS was? TF2 has been out for some 9 years now, and the game looks and feels similar to how it did when it first came out. There has been a void in the shooter category for some time now, and OW is here to take its place.

Even though these classes are in TF2, it's hard to argue that TF2 "created" any of these ideas. Someone with a rocket laucher? Someone with a grenade launcher? Someone with a sniper? Someone that runs fast with low HP? Someone that is slow and can make a vulnerable stationary turret? Someone that gives HP to other teammates? Someone who moves slow with a large amount of HP? TF2 did nothing to innovate new "classes" so I wouldn't really see this as an argument to be used against Overwatch. The ideas are similar, but abilities and ultimates make the counterparts between games nearly impossible to indentify. The only ones that are remotely similar would be Mercy=Medic and Junkrat=Demoman but even then these don't even seem very similar when you take into consideration their ultimate abilities and how the rest of their kits fit together. Everything else is totally different.

At some point, you need to realize that there is very little innovation left to be had, and Blizzard did all they could to incorporate the best aspects of popular games over the past few decades. They took all of this, and threw it in an arcade feeling team based shooter that is a ton of fucking FUN to play regardless of winning or losing - something that has been lost in gaming for a long time.

They did so much to promote team play, remove KDA from it to prevent mindless teamless gameplay that low skilled games such as CoD promote - similar to how HoTS is a team-based MOBA when you compare it to LoL or DoTA. At the same time, the team with the stronger player WILL win if he can outclass the other team, similar to how CS:GO works.

Regardless of what a few opinions in this thread may be, Overwatch is already the "next big thing". These large organizations have much better scouting for "the next big thing" than we do. They're literally dumping money into it due to the return they may get in years down the road.

Blizzard makes successful games. You'd be hard pressed to find another game company that has had as much success than Blizzard has at creating amazing, long-lasting games. I'll admit HoTS was intruduced into a saturated market and hasn't really taken off, but I think that's mostly in part of LoL has really perfected the MOBA scene, in terms of game-play and eSports so there really wasn't any room for HoTS to compete.

This game is already fucking huge in Korea, and has been for a while. Professional League Casters such as Montecristo are looking to stop casting League (The largest game in Korea, and the world) because they see the OW scene as the "next big thing".

 

Of course Overwatch is trying to be in esports what are you even saying. That's a pretty big goal for online games nowadays my friend. You are being very narrow minded and are acting like Call of Duty is the best thing that's ever happened, when in reality it's died down a lot over the years. It's still not even close to League of Legends, Dota, or CSGO.

I feel like you have no right to say what peoples reasons are for playing it. Sure, some definitely began playing because of the hype. But they didn't keep playing because of it. Everyone realizes it's similar to TF2, not sure why that should have a huge influence.

 

bud to think that call of duty is not even close to lol in esports you got another thing coming in prize pool differences call of duty can spend atleast 3m while riot all they have to offer to there greatest players who ever lived is 1m AHAHHAH

Starcraft and Warcraft started eSports. There wouldn't have been anything known as "esports" if no one made games that were worth playing at that level.

 

they might have started it but its dead now no one even plays those games anymore hence my fact about them failing at esports.... dota 2 and lol took it by storm then other games followed as cod and csgo even hearthstone tryed to make it and it failed......

 

I don't think there is ever going to be a game that lasts "long-term" like traditional sports due to technology improvements and studios constantly developing new content. I don't think the fact that the games aren't being played 10+ years after they were released means they failed at esports.

Was this intended to be Heroes of the Storm is totally just like League & Dota ?

Disagree with me all you want, I honestly don't care. Blizzard has been trying to create a game that's a "massive e-sport" for years. They tried with world of warcraft, they tried with heros of the storm, they tried with hearthstone and now they're trying desperately with overwatch.

Team owners started picking up players before it's even released and ALOT of players think that they have a chance to be "the next star".

In regards to why I/others keep making ALOT of emphasis on TF2 is the fact that the core idea is *exactly* the same, but one is free and the other slapped a 40-60$ price tag on it (depending where you're from.)

Also, TF2 had a competitive scene also. Never heard of it? proves my point.

Overwatch is not the "next big thing". Using the argument that companies are investing in it doesn't really make any sense, because those same companies/orgs are making millions off sponsorship deals + apparel + advertisements and that's not even mentioning prize pools etc. an example of this is SK gaming. the last time SK gaming won ANYTHING was 5,000$ in 2015 yet in 2016 they still where capable to drop a 1.2Million$ contract for the luminosity gaming lineup+coach+manager+9,000$ each/month + team house anywhere in europe (csgo).

Blizzard has made* successful games in the past, I'm not disagreeing with that statement but simply because they've had the most successful MMO of all time (Wow) doesn't mean everything they do is Great. AFAIK, wow is being rammed into the ground by themselves and they've already lost the majority of their subs.

In regards to Korea/east I'll pass and give you the benefit of the doubt as I've *never* even watched/checked in their scene.

tl;dr, No, I believe overwatch is overhyped and will slow down to 10-15k viewers in 6 months. Yes, blizzard has made great games in the past, doesn't mean overwatch is special especially when it's core is copied from TF2. In regards to korea, I've got no idea because the "e-sport" I watch is csgo, and it's mainly NA/SA/EU based

 

I dont know why so many guys dont like Overwatch. But for me it is great and funny game. I like shooter game and it really did good at it. Never mind. It just a review from a noob. Enjoy your game.
