Thinking of a future

So, check this out. I've got a felony conviction on my criminal record, and I've got tattoos running from my fingers all the way around my neck. While I was incarcerated, I was studying different programming books, ranging from Java, C++, and Visual Basic. I was wondering, that if I were to get a Software Development Certificate from an online college, would there be any possible way that I may actually get a job in that area? I'd really hate to spend the money to take the courses, and then be refused for every job I apply for. Could anyone give me some tips, or any type of insight on my situation?

 

in your situation, its all about getting lucky, the felony is whats going to make it difficult for you to get a job, maybe the tattoos depending on the establishment but its all about knowing people and getting the right opportunity, maybe try to get a job first

If programming is what you like, you should go for it.

 

I think that you should go for it, when applying for a job I suggest going in person and show that you have changed and are trying to make something out of yourself. I think that they would understand and be willing to give you a shot.

 

You could always develop ways to earn income on your own. Tons of coders are their own boss.
