    Want to leave school...

I feel like you aren't studying properly or dedicating enough time to it.

If you do choose to leave make sure you're going into an apprenticeship or something similar. No doubt you'll regret simply leaving as it will be looked down upon heavily in the job market.

You're still in highschool I presume? If so, the worst mistake you can make is dropping out. Many (including me) don't like school, but it's a necessary step moving forward. As you grow older you will realize the importance of school and the impact it will have in your later years. I too wanted to drop out, but thankfully I was talked out of doing so. Stay committed to advancing and study hard.

I dedicate enough time to studying and most of it is past papers but it generally doesn't work.
Even if I am good at the subject I generally will still fail or get a below average grade.
So I do wonder whether it is worth trying etc.

As for apprenticeships I could look into that.

See I do study hard (More than most people) but it just doesn't seem to work.
I have tried many different techniques in the past; Flash cards, reading over notes, past papers etc... but none of them work.
Ok I'l admit I could be more committed to school etc, but that's mainly down to not doing well that I lose focus/interest in it.

If you leave school you're an idiot, you are ruining your future careers.
You will enjoy school once you are out of it and in the real world. I was the same as you, I hated school, but I trooped it out.

OP if you're still in high school (which I believe you are) I would continue with your education. If you drop out, you should get the GED/Highs School Diploma equivalent.

Providing you have 2 years of school left, I'm assuming you're 16. Getting into a well paying job - or starting a business - at that age would be more difficult than if you were 18 (different job opportunities open with different ages) + finishing high school shows you have a general education (better than checking the no H.S. diploma box on job applications.)

School is not for everyone, but before you decide what to do, do some cost benefit analysis. Is two years worth what you will get out of your degree? Is there another option to schooling? Could you get a full time job? Go into the military? And so forth.

Not necessarily true. While we do live in a credential society, you can still succeed without a degree.

I did not like the education aspect of highschool (social yes) and I still do not.

Hang in there buddy! Summer is almost here. You can look around for a summer job, then you can work part-time when school comes back around. Just try to do your best and pass with decent grades. Maybe reward yourself if you do good? I buy myself a good meal from time to time.

if you are better with practical stuff then goto tafe, in australia tafe is like a school for practical learning such as engineering, wielding, electrician, plumber, computer expert etc and then get an apprenticeship some where.

There is no point continuing something that you are not good at, and have no passion for. So long as you can write, read, do math and all the basic stuff that school should teach, you're better off going into a trade. The only problem is perhaps you might be overlooked for someone that has a better education than you, however so long as you can (a) get in to the trade you're doing, and (b) excel at it, you should be fine.

If you have no passion for school, then you should get a job and find something you can pursue. Education does not get you a career, you get yourself a career.

Quitting school is definitely not the best option here. Come on man, you only have 2 years of school left, tough it out and scoop up that diploma. High school graduation is a once in a life time thing and how the world is today, you won't get far without some sort of education. Unless of course you desire to go find a minimum wage which is only $7.25/hr where I live (South GA). You'd only be able to find a job somewhere flipping burgers or bagging groceries(No offense to anyone who does this because there's nothing wrong with this type of work). Basically, I'm just saying it's well worth the hard work and effort you have to put into this.

You'll hear it 50 more times after this but try becoming conscious of playing attention, not becoming diverted, etc. If you don't have a history of being interested in academics it'll only be harder to find that thing that allows you to sit through and actually benefit in some way from learning those things. Harder but not impossible.

As from someone who dropped out of high school I suggest you tough it out for 2 years. I finished high school in adult/night school and I really regretted it, I dropped out because I hated school but realized to do the things I wanted, I need school. If you have a plan that does not include school, feel free to drop out, it isn't for everyone and many people have been successful without it.

To this day, I still wish I toughed it out and listened to my friends who told me to stay.
