Looking for opinions on whether to cut a friend from something...

Hello. First off this friend of mine is not really a good friend (more of just us crossing paths a lot because we share friends and some hobbies like sports), we would never really hang out just us (never have) unless it is "business". I am not really phased if I lose him as a "friend".

About 5 months ago he came to me with an idea for a phone app, randomly. I explained to him why it wouldn't really work out. After casual discussion and brainstorming on app ideas for our school, I came up with an idea. So let it be known that the app idea was in no way his, otherwise I would feel way worse about this. He would give input as to what other social media's do but other than that he gave me no original ideas. I knew he would not be able to help me code anything so I settled on the fact that he would be the "marketer" (he is studying commerce).

We released the social media after about 4 months and it is doing pretty good. About 600 users in the first 2 weeks of existence at just our school (which is a pretty small school). I started getting stressed because after release it seemed like I was doing more of the marketing then him. I never wanted anything to do with the marketing to be honest, that was the agreement. I ended up spending hours putting up posters around school with him. Another major part of the plane as to put flyers under doors in the dormitories. When he did this at the first dormitory it was very effective. We only have about 6 dormitories on campus and 4 weeks later he still hasn't gotten them all... This literally should only take a day to get all dormitories (a few hours max). He doesn't seem to do anything at all unless I nag him.

On the marketing side at the moment I am doing so much more then him. I literally got every twitter account and Facebook account of students at my school to advertise to (for example Facebook custom audience). It is not easy work to do this, and then to advertise to every single account. He is not capable of doing this so I am stuck with the burden. And when we expand to other schools, I am going to be the one doing it at every school... Literally all he is capable of doing is physically putting up posters around school and sliding advertisement flyers under doors in the dormitory. But realistically, what is he going to do when we expand to other schools since he can't do that physical stuff? My school is very small and its been almost a month and he still hasn't postured everywhere on campus or advertised to all the dormitories. If he can't do this to a school he goes to, I am not confident how he is going to market outside of this school.

To break down what each of us have done...

    Me
    -developed iOS app
    -developed android app
-designed all the back end stuff (database, php scripts, etc.)
-more or less came up with the idea, but based on other social medias already in existence
-gather all twitter and Facebook accounts of students that go to my school for advertising purposes
-I do the actual advertising on twitter and Facebook, he has nothing to do with it
-I am responsible for the never ending updates to app that will need to be done like adding new schools and features
-I am responsible for coordinating moderation of the app content (if something arises at the moment I have to manually go into the database to fix, and I am not going to give him access to it)

    Him
-designed the posters, got them printed
-designed the flyers, got them printed
-advertised to a few of the dormitories (not all of them)
-put posters up in some of the buildings on campus (which I was there when he did this) and all buildings aren't even taken care of yet

It is really stressful and frustrating. At the start I said we will be 50/50 in this but I am doing pretty much all of the work and it feels like he is being a leech. I never wanted to have to nag him to do his part. Is it fair to him if I cut him? Obviously he would be compensated with any money he put into this.
