    what is life

I have no motivation to do anything whatsoever. I dropped out of school 3 years ago and I'm 17. I don't have any friends and I don't have a job. I lay in bed all day and surf the internet. I know I need to do something with my life, I just can't seem to start anywhere. When I was 14 and I first dropped out, I didn't realize it would have ever lead to where I am now. I feel like my family is just gotten tired of me and given up on me. I just don't know anymore. The only thing I can think of is getting my g.e.d. and joining the military.. Thoughts?

Ged and military are good options. What i would recommend personally is first find a passion/hobby. Play sports, workout, start a project, etc. Also, try working, even minimum wage, just to get started.

Then start an education. Doesnt have to be full time- go ged or maybe even part time in a community college afterwards. Challenge yourself. Itll make you stronger and patient.

Do self reflection and set goals: write it down and follow up every day- it seems cheesy, but it works

Know that even if you get a job and educate yourself, you need family and friends to enjoy life with. Make good friends who you think will make you better, not people to drink and gossip with.

Im free to talk on skype, just hit me up.

Your parents are okay with what you're doing with your life? Obviously your first plan of action would be to get your GED. The military is a plausible idea, and probably your best choice considering your situation. You'll be able to get college degrees through their MDP (Military Degree Program). The benefits they offer are very captivating.

It's up to you whether or not you want to throw your life away.

Don't choose the army, the army will only mess you up even more. You should look into professional help but for the sake of everyone else don't pick the army.

And to everyone else suggesting that army is a good way to go then fk you guys. This person is clearly not healthy and you suggest giving him a machine gun. Da fuck is wrong with you? This is the reason why I dislike the US so much. "Ohh you have a mental problem, join the army and go kill a few people, you will surely feel better after that". Seriously from the bottom of my heart, fk you.

Professional help hasn't helped at all, I've had quite a few mental health specialists try and help me but it always seems to make things worse. I personally wouldn't want to join the military, but it is a last resort if i can't find a good job once I make yet another attempt to attend GED classes. Idk.

Write a list of all the short term things you want to accomplish and start scoring them off. Sometimes the thought of what we have to do can put us off even starting. You're only young; anything is still possible. Heck; some people with no qualifications at age 30 & 40 find their way to employment and careers; you just have to motivate yourself and get it done bit by bit.

i agree with roary you should just make small goals and do them slowly. i was in the same place where i lost a high paying job and i thought i'd never get that type of paying job again! for over a year! than i went to truck driving school and now i make more! i started by doing the small things first.

If you never knew who you we're, you might just be special forces. If you want to do the impossible and find the motivation in becoming someone in life--the Army may be the best decision you ever make.

    It's a passport, it's a degree and it's a purpose.

Please feel free to contact us through PM, we'll support you 100% of the way.

I feel you should go into the military because my brother went in and it has taught him so much about discipline. He doesn't like it all that much but the benefits are really good and you get to live in the barracks free. So I hope this helps, And if you get unmotivated just think you are still alive and breathing.

Find a local job, if you got no car - invest in a bicycle or have your family member drop you off - also the bus depending on where you live. If you put in the work, you'll get the money. Once you see the money piling up, this is where your motivation to go bigger will begin.
