Okay, so let me start off with that I'm looking for a job in the oil industry, in order for me to get a work permit I need to find a company that will go through a complicated process to have permission to hire me. There are roughly 140 oil related companies in the area I currently am in, and I'm losing motivation because I've applied to roughly 10 so far and none have called even though most companies are short with workers, so I need advice on how to make them have a higher interes in me. I have a good looking resume and I try to be polite and positive are there any other tips/things I could do to improve my chances?

    - Also need motivation to get my ass up and realize that if I can't find a job within 2 months I will be fucked big time for a long time, this opportunity is the make or break it in my life

Try networking and use linkedin to find employees and employers you could have an informational interview with, sometimes showing interest in their job can get you an inside referral for a job. Also if you decide to use linkedin keep your profile professional with a photo of you in professional attire and if your twitter or facebook is public I'd recommend making it private or disabling them altogether, I've made quite a few connections in the finance industry and every manager I spoke to told me not to keep a twitter or facebook unless you can keep it professional. I'm not sure which positions you're applying to but having an informational interview with someone in your field can really open up your eyes into what a potential employer is looking for.

Punjabi, has given some really nice insight into what you should be doing in terms of boosting up your interest in positions and how to use your credentials to help.

I understand that you want to be looking for a job in the oil industry, however have you tried looking for jobs in other areas? Do you have references and people who could refer you to specific jobs that would fit your interests? Aside from that though, in terms of obtaining the position you're looking for, perhaps you could ask the employers for feedback regarding your application. As Punjabi suggested, having an interview will definitely help. In addition, you could try seeking assistance from job advisers or other organizations which would help you find the job you're looking for.

As for your resume, perhaps you could have it reviewed by organizations that provide job-seeking assistance. You should make your resume pertinent to the job position your looking for so that it means your interests may be in the field your applying to--instead of having other clutter.

Also, last of all, don't give up! You just have to persevere through the hard times and keep moving forward! No matter how far something is, the closer you get to it and--once you achieve it--the more rewarding it'll be. Best of luck!
