    Thank you all for your advice and concern. I have stopped drinking for a while and will be seeing a medical therapist within the coming weeks.

    Whenever people post on Sythe about this stuff I get a bit irked. Not saying what you're doing is wrong, go you for having the courage to post this. But in reality most of these people will have absolutely no idea medically what they're talking about. Depression is a psychological illness that can be treated with medicine and therapy. We aren't therapists. You can definitely get some good advice from people who have suffered similar things on here although there aren't many, but the best advice anyone can offer you is to go speak to a therapist or psychologist. You never know anything until you are diagnosed. The self diagnosis that you are doing I can guarantee is wrong. You are not bipolar and schizophrenic. Go see a professional, it'll be faster than waiting days for a few responses from people in their late teens and early 20s :)

    Try quitting drugs and alcohol for a while, say 1 month. Not eating junk food, getting enough sleep. Do things that make you proud. Like working out, creating, studying, or going on adventures.

    I know I get a lot better when im not smoking/drinking or going through withdrawals of either. I find I withdraw a lot when im going through withdrawls, like I'll become very internal and negative if Im coming off smoking or drinking. But after a while having been sober and being proactive, like 3 weeks, Ill get a lot more social and outgoing. Which helps my mood and guides me towards better decisions.

    Its fucking hard to do when you constantly have those overwhelming negative thoughts, but by positively conditioning yourself you can at least reduce the frequency and harshness of it. And realize that most of what you tell yourself is just bullshit. What matters is what you do.

    Feeling bad for yourself feels good, which is a weird thing to say, but its true. Its easy to just resign and say 'fuck it'. When you start coming to negative conclusions try come up with solid evidence that supports it, more often than not youll find youre just being hard on yourself. Imagine if it was a friend with the same problems, would you be so harsh to them?

    Just realize its normal, and there are lots of people just like you.

    I thank you for your response. I wasn't expecting a medical opinion just one of the general public. Although to be fair, bipolar/skitz is not all that rare. I will be seeking medical help once my insurance clears it and i can get over the stigma from having a mental illness(not anytime soon).

    feeling bad for yourself hits hard, i dont understand the logic behind it does def feel good when feeling depressed. its counter-intuitive but its the truth.but the fucked up part is positive thoughts don't override the negative ones. On Tuesday ill feel like fucking boss and get a girls number and on Wednesday ill spin into a suicidal spiral. The consistency just isin there. I am just looking for opinions if medication/therapy if my only option.

    Medication might work for you, if its serious I suggest you try (consult a doctor). Ive been on antidepressants before and everything was just kind of grey. No highs or lows... just plateaued all the time.

    Therapy's never done much for me.

    fuck insurance mate, health > money... Just visit a therapist he might be help you. I don't think any of us here will be able to help you. We ain't asking you to get operated so that u need to claim insurance?..
