Strange nervousness when talking about college

Been thinking about posting this for a while, I just can't seem to figure this out. When I'm questioned about what I'm doing for college, I get nervous talking about my interests in a career that I wish to pursue. I want to do a media-related job, so when I'm question, I quickly give a brief description about it then try to avoid any other questions by looking away or pretending to do something else.

It's just the longer I talk about it, my body starts to get hot! IDK it's weird! Maybe I am nervous about what they think I'm doing? There are sometimes when I don't care but most of the time I do. I think it is strange because I can talk to people, but I seem to seize up when it comes to this.

Any ideas on how to help on this? Any input would be appreciated - thanks.

What exactly to do that's media related? Try talking to family members as you should never be nervous telling them anything. As you talk to then you'll get more relaxed talking about it to other people.

I want to do video editing, but the course I am studying for expands into video, graphics, and photography.

Maybe its because you don't feel confident that you'll make it in that industry? Do you feel comfortable with your skills in that area at the moment?

Maybe you're subconsciously a little overwhelmed that you don't know what's out there for you after college?

Either way, it's entirely normal. Generally speaking, most people's first job isn't what they anticipated it to be. So your career in media could start somewhere completely different -- who knows. Don't fret. Stay the course with college and do your thing.

All this sounds like is a bit of anxiety.

It seems like you don't really want to get into that field or you know that the field isn't for you and you won't be successful. You're avoiding questions because you don't know the answers yourself.

All of the answers were interesting, but this seems to clear up my confusion. I am nervous of whats to come next. I believe this is the answer to my frustrations. Thanks to all who posted.
