How do I pick one thing to focus my energy on?

Recently I've been thinking about what skills I should start sharpening now that will help me later in life, but there are so many things that I really really enjoy doing that I don't know which ones I should focus on. Keep in mind all of these are supposed to be tied to careers, and I will probably keep most as hobbies.

Soccer: I've always been really bad at soccer, but I always enjoyed playing it until recently. It seems that I don't enjoy playing soccer unless there is something I have to play for. While it's fun playing in a laid back league with my friends, I miss the competition aspect of the sport.

Baseball: I have no experience playing baseball, but I understand the game very well. Many people on my soccer teams have told me I have the makeup of a baseball player more than a soccer player. This year I started hitting some balls every once in a while and I have noticed how solid my swing is. I think I would enjoy playing baseball more than soccer if I got into it, but most people who even have a chance at making this a career start at such a young age. Plus, I'm not very tall.

Gaming: I love video games and spend a lot of my time playing them, and I think it would be a lot of fun to play them for a living, whether it be creating them, playing them professionally, or streaming/youtube. I'm fairly good at strategy games such as Hearthstone and Starcraft, but I never focus all my time on them meaning I have never been good enough to play in tournaments and such.

History and Art: I've always had a major sweet spot for history and art. I collected coins while I was younger and was in love with old treasure myths and metal detecting. I started a thread on Sythe about this a while back, but it lost interest after a few days. I do a lot of research about Egyptian History and Ancient Civilizations, but have never really seen myself making it a career.

Coach/Analyst: Because the chances of going pro in a sport are very low, I've always thought about being a coach or analyst because of my strong knowledge about baseball specifically. The problem is that most coaches and analysts are former players.

Investing: There is a side of me that has always been in love with investing. I fell in love with small business investing after watching the show shark tank, but this profession requires a lot of prior wealth

I know this is a bit unorganized and doesn't really make too much sense. But remember I am discussing career paths and study focuses.

I'll try to help you out, but keep in mind i don't have a clue how old you are which is kind of important, and this is just my thoughts

so you said it yourself, you're not very good at soccer, but you don't truly enjoy it unless you're playing competitively? id try playing in like a community (or w/e you call the non-club soccer leagues) league where shit's decently relaxed but still competitive and you don't have to be a natural born soccer player to succeed in. the benefit of this also being you won't have to go to practice five nights a week.

Try beerleague baseball/softball, probably one of the best times ive had in awhile. again, if you're like 16 and not of legal drinking age, id give it a shot trying out for an actual baseball team and see what happens. you don't really need to be tall (obviously) but if you can hit big and run fast there's a chance they could fit you in.

video games are all good but honestly dude as you get older you'll realize that they're good as a time waster when you have nothing else to do. it's seriously hard to get a career in video games that isn't in the creating process, and that isn't all that exciting unless writing lines of code interests you. as well, i dislike sounding like an old ass man but don't ever blow off your friends or some sort of responsibility in favor of playing a video game. ain't never worth it

idk shit about this stuff, but if it interests you, never shy away from it.

lately, a lot of people become analysts from being general sports writers/bloggers that become more and more credible and have a wealth of acquired knowledge. i can't speak much for coaching but they're both goals you'll have to steadily keep at for years, but could be totally worth it.

talk to people involved in investing/the stock market in general. see what's up and if it really interests you. id say that's your best place to start if you ever plan on pursuing this as either a hobby or profession.

The last two are the only ones in that list that I can likely see turning into a career for you, that being said don't let my advice stop you from doing whatever you enjoy.

I'd say focus on something that is going to get you a career/job and keep the rest on the back burners as hobbies for now.

No offense, but how are you going to be a pro baseball player or coach when you've never even played before? You're expecting way too much. It's already nearly impossible to make pro and that's for people who have been playing since they were like 6. Play baseball as a hobby, but don't expect to make a career out of it.

Same thing goes for gaming. Chances of you making money off it are unlikely. History and art could be a possibility if that's what you like. Maybe you could be a teacher or something. A good friend of mine is a history teacher actually. Of course investing is always good too if you know what you're doing, but like you said, you need money to invest first, so I would worry about that later. You're clearly still pretty young, so you have plenty of time to figure out what you want to do. A lot of people have no clue what they want to do until way after they graduate high school, so you don't need to rush it. Just keep trying new things you think you'll enjoy and set yourself reasonable goals.

One thing you might want to consider looking into as a hobby/job is programming. It's a very useful skill and can land you a job. The sports/gaming are very long shots.

Paragraph #1 is the sad, but honest truth.
Nonetheless, there are opportunities out there for anything. You just have to find them. As I was always told, do what motivates you, not what people tell you. Go with your gut, and inner nature. Then, you will come across something.

If you have the ability to stick with soccer, do it. Honestly (at least for me), with the right competitive team or school spirit if you play for your school will do wonders for you in the long run. Sports in general open up career paths because of the connections you make.

If you like Coins and used to collect them, then you should look into investing into coins.

Do some research on Numismatics. Gold and Silver will always be around, and you can get started for less than a Rack. People invest their money in coins a lot, and if you learn it and do it right, it could lead to a nice retirement
