Scammed for the 5th time :(

Well ladies and gentleman, I have officially been scammed for the 5th time as a seller on Sythe. Every time I have tried to sell here I have been scammed. The only good sales I have had are me buying haha oh well. So basically I learned my lesson the first few times by not trading people who aren't trusted or ranked. Well this time it's different. This guy had hundreds of vouches donated over 100$ and was very trusted doing a free middleman service with over 28 pages of posts. What person would scam and throw away an account like that? I just find it sad, what else am I and the other scammed victims out there supposed to do? I lost 375$ to him and the only satisfaction I get is seeing the fact he is banned.

Some say that this wasn't like him and that he was hacked. If so then is there anything in the rules saying that if he was hacked and proves it, he can come back after only paying back what was scammed using his account?

Some say that he just quit with Sythe and decided to scam as much as he could before he officially was done.

What do you think is true of the above? This is the scammer by the way :/ http://www.sythe.org/members/363557-einqebildet.html

What should be my next step to recovery? I don't even know what to do now I lost pretty much everything to him. How do you blow off getting scammed for those of you that have?

Who can you trust anymore? It seems that no matter who I choose it's not safe. I feel as if I am targeted for the fact that I am not of an upgraded status or donator, small amount of vouches. I can't seem to avoid the scammers haha :p oh well.
    Life goes on.

    3. Most likely if there on skype but not on sythe there a scammer
    4. Also read the stickies in each section
    5. Always look at scam reports before trading

Never trade in large amounts. Always sell/buy in smaller increments.

That is definitely not like him, althought it does look like a bit of a "scam-quit" type of thing :( I'm really sorry for your loss. My best advice would be to sell in smaller amounts and stick to trusted members. It seems to me you did the necessary by requesting a sythe pm and such, just really bad luck and bad timing :s

IMO just sell to shops, its worth the extra 30c/M or so loss than losing it all :/

Anyone is capable of scammimg. Next time you should use a omm for big trades, doesn't matter who you are trading. Look at the quality of their vouches, not the quantity. Analyze how they act during the trade, that can draw warning signs.

    Sorry for your loss.
After you check it's correct skype/get a PM from them etc, just do trades in smaller increments you feel comfortable doing, they would have no reason to say no.

First off, sorry for your loss. I've known einqebildet for months and it absolutely disgusts me seeing what he did.

However, unfortunately that's the risk you have to take when trading goods on the internet. You can't really trust anyone 100% whom you personally don't know or haven't met in person. My advice next time is to use an OMM or break up the trade into smaller amounts (e.g. 20m at a time).

I haven't been scammed here yet, simply because I take extreme caution when trading. If someone doesn't have more than 5 vouches, I simply don't trade with them, or tell them to go first. If they refuse, I just say screw it and move to the next person who wants to trade.

Start off by getting vouches from trusted members and build up from there.

@Sovietunion- Thanks for that suggestion and I did offer that. Unfortunately he said no and laughed at me. He said look at my vouches plus that'll alert Jagex if we do 3 trades of 50 mils. Higher chance of being banned.

@UnHoly Grail- Thanks for the suggestions as I did that. I just got unlucky and caught up in a quit scam by a trusted member.

@Itsmarymkai- You're right about all that. It's just unfortunate timing and and he pulled it off well. I realized things were wrong when he stalled paying and said he is requesting funds from his bank to be transferred first. When I asked for a screeny of proof he send me a blank white photo taken via Gayzo haha.

@2007gpsales- You may be right. By gold sites I assume you are talking about the Chinese sites that gold farm. If you're talking about trusted members gold shops on here that buy cheap then that's kinda what I was doing. I was selling to a trusted member whom I would assume is as trusted as some of the biggest gold traders here (in example Arcus Insidar etc..). I just got caught up at the wrong place and time.

@Ghast- Thanks for the suggestion! I did check his vouches as he had hundreds and they were all good. I should of used a middleman you're correct, yet he did have a middle-manning service himself which had 28 pages of replies. I assumed he was trusted. Big mistake.

@l0llyp0pst3r- Thanks mate, life goes on oh well.

@Soul Rich- You're right and I did get a pm and skype confirmation. He just was a good guy who turned bad.

@IslamDesigns- Nope all of the scams have been incidents like this. They are trusted and then turn bad. Most of them actually have been impostors but I quickly learned how to protect from them. Please next time before commenting crap on a thread read the whole thread including my scam report; as I did everything properly.

Thanks, I am quite surprised too and disappointed myself. It was surprising as I didn't really get mad after getting scammed this time. I just was like, "you know what fuck people like him life sucks oh well." No worries next time i'll be safer (if I choose to sell here again when and if I make it back). In the end of this we'll all just look back at these situations and brush it off saying ehh it was only 375$ at the time. It's not detrimental, but still a bummer. Hope some type of Karma bites him in the ass.

I will definitely start doing free services to build up my reputation, as I am sick of being taken advantage of and targeted for having a "low" level status and being a "noob" here on Sythe. Any suggestions on what to do? I'm best at runescape services.

I am so with you on this. Unfortunately one person can not control the actions of someone else. Especially one hiding behind a computer. The only thing we can hope to happen is that he see's his mistake and wants to pay back his scam and get a pardon. That is honestly what i'm hoping for as i'm currently out 375$ and need to somehow get out of this sticky situation. I guess I should start selling some Bitcoins and Litecoins I have collected. Slowly just work to make back the 150m he took. Oh well, it's just money. Life has it's up's and downs. Just like a roller coaster some scream and cry, others enjoy the ride. Live on.

    Sorry for your loss buddy.

Seems like your luck has just been terrible. I still encourage you to keep trading here on Sythe. However, for future reference, always use an OMM.

It's really unfortunate that you were scammed by someone who was deemed trusted. I personally didn't know the guy, but I guess he showed his true colours.
