I'm taking the ASVAB monday, but im worried i dont know much in math because i really never took it serious now its backfiring me. You think ill still do good even without having much knowledge in math? can someone tell me some good resources to help me study or some tips from people who have taken it? thanks

It's 25 questions for the math portion. The questions are pretty simple even for those who are horrid in math.

    I wouldn't worry too much.

    What would this be?

If you're talking about your barb test - Sir you'll pass that with flying colours, good luck with your career.

I was a Welsh Guard Infantry Soldier.. I will happily say I don't regret joining the Army and I gained the most experience in my life there!

I'm not exactly sure what math the military entails but I'll be on skype all weekend and can probably explain any concepts you may have trouble with.

Hm.... not sure, a bunch of my friends who are rather smart only scored the minimum on the asvab which is like a 30-35ish. I however was able to score a 79 without any studying or anything. It varies per person. Even if you don't do too well on math, you might excel in the other parts.

Dude you'll be fine! Don't even get yourself frazzled over it seriously. The asvab honestly felt like taking my SAT's. The questions start out pretty damn easy and progress to honestly no higher than like an 11th or 12th grade level.
I scored a 111gt with diarrhea. Really though, I had a stomach virus haha

Good luck, have fun picking your job =)! Oh and remember those "cool" video's they show you about specific MOS's are far from accurate lol.

Would conisder asking n4n0 about it to see if he has any specific info on it

As it is only a small proportion of the test, I wouldn't worry too much about it :)

I actually just took my ASVAB about 2 months ago (went up to MEPS in Syracuse, NY), and I did excellent in the Math section, granted Math and mechanics are my strong points :p. However, the ASVAB is super easy. I flew through the test on purpose, and still got a 62 on it. If I had actually tried, I could have easily gotten 70-80's. But I still scored the highest out of my group.

Just relax, make sure you have food in you, and just don't worry excessively over it. What MOS are you looking at?

I'm pretty sure it isn't too hard, I'm sure N4N0 will tell you the same thing basically. Although, he can help you out with any concepts you aren't understanding, but you should've taken it seriously a while back knowing it'd bite you. :/

Military tests aren't designed to be difficult, just go in and out you'll be fine.

ASVAB consists of 8th grade material at max. I dropped out of high school as a senior, took the ASVAB 3 years later, and scored an 86%

that's you n4n0. dropping out doesn't mean you aren't intelligent. as for not knowing math, man, that sucks. tbh, that's the #1 used subject in life. but for the army, only need a 20 u should be good. would be diff. story if u were trying to go navy/air force. as long as your other skills r good, you should be fine.

Honestly if you can cook and use ingredients properly you'll be completely fine when it comes to the math.

Oh, quite the contrary. I dropped out partially because I was bored, but mostly because I ended up having to get a job to survive.

I'd sleep through half of my classes, wouldn't do the class/home work, and still get high 80-90 percentile on tests.

Got my GED now, which I aced several subjects on, and will be starting college courses here in the next couple months.
