Prozac

So, I'm back from college for Thanksgiving break and I had previously expressed to my parents how i was unhappy at my school and wanted to transfer. They won't even let me think about it until next year, so I'm stuck there for the next semester. My mom's more sympathetic for me as she knows my social issues and the fact that I haven't made any friends and am kind of just depressed. She made me an appointment for the psychiatrist she see's, and he put me on Prozac (mainly for social anxiety, which in turn will cure any depression I have).

Anyways, has anyone ever taken it? Had any bad side effects?

I just don't know how I feel about taking medication for something like this. I think my dad disapproves and i don't know how to feel about it. Any experiences you can share?

 

I haven't ever taken any Prozac, so can't comment on that, but as far as school goes give it your best shot.

It can be hard without friends, but, just try and talk to people and help people out in class. Something as simple as that could lead to you having lunch together or even hanging out after school. Just keep your head down and work hard, the semester will fly by, but tick it off a calendar a day at a time. At the end of each week reward yourself with a 'treat'. That'll motivate you for the next week - I'm a great believer in this method, it's worked for me in the past.

Suggest you look at the side effects and decide whether you would take the risks.

Try and put yourself out there. If you don't try to make friends, you won't have any.

 

Just be yourself - all I can say to you mate! if you find yourself alone please do not wonder to talk to me =D

 

Try something else before taking the pills.
They must be ur final option for deciding any problems.
I personally hate anykind of pills because all of them are synthetic.
Just my personal viewpoint.

 

I've had friends on this and one experienced far more problems when he started taking it. Have you considered taking herbal supplements?
