    Doped up brother.

    Dear Sythe,

I am hear to write about a very serious problem I have had: my brothers dope addiction. Starting in the 9th grade, he has started hanging out with many black people who listen to hip-hop which has had the consequence of negatively impacting his behavior. Since finding out he has been hanging around these criminal black people, we have grounded him and taken his Xbox 360 away. I'm worried that the latinas are going to lace the weed with cocaine. A concerned parent saw our brother in this video: .

Where we believe he is high on weed, cause this is not like him and he had no gang affiliation, he comes from a loving family and our father is a cop.

You wanting to find a soloution? The grounding should solve it, if not be persistant and keep punishment untill he stops.

It's not racist at all, if the only people he primarily socializes with are black and are criminals, how can he refer to them as anything other than black? He used no derogatory language and I fail to see why you assume he is a racist. If it had been a black person calling his brother's white friends "white criminals" then nobody would reply with any insinuations regarding whether or not he is racist.

That might be the worst idea I've ever heard. Punish them more, they rebel more.

Put him in a different school, maybe a private one if you can afford.

I say you need to make him see what he is doing wrong. Punishing him more will most likely make him rebel more. I find the best way to deal people like this is to reason with them. Any conventional method like grounding, will not change how they view what they are doing. It will just shows them they get in trouble when the do it. If he realizes how he is living is wrong and what happens to people with that lifestyle, maybe it will snap him out of it. He sees the "fun and cool" side of it, not the real consequences.
