Need help getting my Motorbike License

Well recently i got my normal Car license but i had always had an interest in motorbikes, i've ridden before using my friends ones around the block and also their dirt bikes.

The thing is my parents are 110% against it. I told them i would be responsible with it, and not act like a dick head on the road but they said the issue wasn't about not trusting me. They said they don't trust the OTHER people on the street.

So now i'm stuck trying to figure out a way to finally convince them and need your help :\

Might I ask how old you are?

If you're below 18 then it's going to be hard convincing them.
I'm 19 now and I am allowe to get one, but only because I used the fact that I'm in Uni and have a crappy job while I'm here, which means rubbish income.
I basically said a bike is the only thing I can afford, I can't pay the £2000 for a car and then the £8000 insurance, not to mention it would cost more to run.

Basically, use your financial status as a way to convince them, but I doubt it will work if you're under 18.

 

Im 17, 18 very soon :\ I have had this shit part time job at some pizza store but got fired because i pretty much did nothing but eat pizza. Honestly hated it LOL. The income thing might work but ill have to see what other people say.

 

Buy the bike yourself, and take the classes using your own money. Put the investment for everything that comes along with getting a bike; yourself. Parents can't control you forever, and sometimes need to let you make your own mistakes, or just plain decisions on your own. Your 17 and need to start making your own choices, but don't ignore your parents advice. Just think about it some more, and come to your own conclusion.

 

but the thing is the bike doesnt only affect me. Decision making isn't a problem for me at all in any situation of my life, ill get the bike eventually its just how to convince my parents that ill be fine.

 

They have legal responsibility for you until you're 18 unfortunately, but like you said; you're almost 18. Just wait till then and try again
