Lul Infraction.

I got a spamming infraction for posting once on somebodies thread about "obby maulers".
He was stating he was selling "obby maulers."
I stated that 25 attack isn't really an "obby" mauler.
His response: "reported for spamming."
... I got an infraction from it.
From a newcomer with no vouches, and 25 posts.
Now, I only have around 150 posts, but that's because I don't SPAM. I initially was interested in buying his "obby" mauler, and was disappointed and annoyed that he claims 25 attack was an obby mauler.
Dunno if this is really the right forum.
But I'm still annoyed. -.-

Since it was his thread, he actually has a say how his 'obbby mauler' is going to be like. Even if he's obby mauler has all 1 stats.

 

It's still annoying. I get an infraction. It wasn't like it wasn't related to the account.

 

I've had two temporary bans, atleast you still have your account But anyway, it's all over now and what ever you do or say, won't change that. Sorry but I had to tell you straight. Anyway good luck

 

On Sythe, you just have to think of your infractions as warnings. I know it can be annoying, I have been infracted a few times for reasons that I don't necessarily agree with, but rather than get mad most of the time, I try to think about what warranted the infraction and what I can do in the future to avoid getting infracted for anything similar?

Maybe next time, rather than posting "25 attack really isn't an obby mauler...", you could post something more like:

"I am interested in this account, but am a little hesitant over the 25 attack as that really isn't an 'obby mauler'. Maybe we could negotiate the price?"

Or even better, just refrain from posting at all. I know sometimes you just want to make little comments like that, especially when a person is falsely advertising an obby mauler yet you open the thread and that is NOT in fact what they are selling, but in retrospect, your comment was not really necessary and possibilly even damaging to his chance of a sale. It sucks, but just try and think twice before posting comments like that, and in the future you should be able to move throughout Sythe without getting in too much trouble

 

Don't think I could add much more to what Zerker said, he's a great helper.

Instead of posting though, you could have simply sent him a pm, explaining to him his misleading title in a calm manor. You could vented your fustration, but ofcourse in a calm manor or even just told a mod to get the title changed because its a misleading title.

Infractions aren't that bad, simply because you can learn from them, ensuring you won't repeat your actions again. Also, everyone receives an infraction here and there, as long as you don't get 5 active infractions at once, your fine.

 

I think what irritates me, is the fact that I've been legit trading on here for about a year. I havne't recieved one infraction. Also, It's like when someone on RS reports you for cussing. He's doing it just to do it and look "good." Personally, if the roles had been reversed I wouldn't have cared. I would have been like okay, free bump. Cool. But no. Not him. -.-

Some kids are just D-bags though and like to feel cool because they report people, or act like a wannabe Mod. There is really nothing you can do about it at all, except follow the steps I outlined above to try and avoid these confrontational situations.

Because unfortunately if somebody reports you, then you are reported. After that point, it is up to the discretion of the mod who handles the report as to whether it warrants an infraction or not.

Just in case you are not aware - you can PM the mod who gave you the infraction, in this case KeroKeroCola, and discuss the situation with them. Sometimes mods will reverse your infraction if they believe that it was not warranted after all, or if you respectfully discuss it over with them. Don't always rely on this though, because it can sometimes be a pain in the ass. Last time I PM'd Kero to discuss one of my infractions, he never even replied to my PM whether he read it or not >_< You are probably better off just brushing this one off and trying harder in the future to avoid committing infractable offences.

It's an infraction... it doesn't even effect you if it's your first one. Brush it off and stop crying. It's not like that infraction is responsible for a temp ban or anything. If you've been here a year, and that's your first one then you'll be fine. In two months it will have expired and won't even mean anything.

Besides, this is just an online forum- there are, most certainly, bigger problems in the world than this.

An infraction IS a warning, and as I tell most of the people who PM me asking why I infracted them for spam/bumping etc., one doesn't matter. It only matters when you repeatedly offend and accumulate more than four in a 2 month period. Just take this as a warning to be more careful, elaborate your posts more, and keep to the topic in future
