    Sleeping problem

Although this may be a minor problem, I've been having trouble sleeping after long breaks from school. Primarily, it's my fault because I tend to sleep late as the break goes by. Currently, I sleep at 2 am. School starts again in two days (including today). How can I manage to get a good night's sleep the night before school?

On an added note, I find it hard to sleep earlier in two days (e.g. I cannot fall asleep at 11 pm tonight).

Try to wake up very early the next morning. Drink a cup of warm milk with some honey in it. Should make u sleepy. Food gets people sleepy aswell. Also avoid caffein filled drinks e.g energy drink , coffee and so on.

You've started confronting your problem too late my friend. The way I solve this problem is that I gradually take away the amount of hours I sleep. So I set my alarm half an hour earlier than the previous day until I reach a time like 9 am. As you adjust the time you wake up, the time you go to sleep becomes earlier as well. There's not much you can do to solve this problem late no matter how much you try to force yourself, you can try waking up early like stated above, but its going to have a negative impact on your day.

Just stay awake for a long time the night before...Then go to sleep at like 7pm/8pm (after being up for 24hrs+) and you'll end up waking up early/on time on your first day of school...then just sleep normally

I've got such a whacky sleep schedule that sometimes to make an extremely drastic change in a short amount of time (like the one you describe), I pull an all nighter, or go to bed at your usualy time (2am), but set your alarm for 7am the next morning.

This forces you to get up and go about your day and either no sleep, or very little sleep, and by the time the evening rolls around, you will be SO tired that you should fall asleep fairly early (7-9pm). Have your alarms set for 7am the next morning and voila, your schedule is already back on track.

The main thing is just repetition.. create a schedule, stick to it, and don't alter that schedule, EVEN on weekends & holidays.

When you need to go to school always go to sleep earlier.

Does not matter if you don't want to - just do it. After some time, everything will get back to its place.

I'm in a similar position. I've been staying up late over the holiday break, and school resumes in just 2 days! Thankfully, there are a few tricks you can easily use to help yourself get back on a normal schedule.

Try taking a cold bath or shower an hour before bed. It can really help you fall asleep and sleep well. Try reading a book before bed. Don't browse the web on your computer, though, because it's stimulating and will actually keep you awake. Deep breathing is another technique might work. Try breathing in and out with some sort of rhythm while laying in bed. If all else fails, plan to have a strenuous workout during the afternoon. Nothing makes me more tired than spending an hour lifting weights or jogging.

What some people have tried, especially people with insomnia is taking some pills such as benadryl, or even smoking marijuana an hour or so before you'd like to go to bed. Both are VERY VERY V E R Y sleep inducing.

I'd recommend setting your alarm and waking up as normal for the first day back to school. Usually you don't do much on the first day back anyways, so you won't have to be too alert, and when you get home do your best to avoid sleeping until after 8 PM. You'll get a nice long sleep, and wake up refreshed the next day.

I've been in your positions nearly everytime I get a break from school (I'm in college now), and this trick works the best for me.

    Sleeping problem

I'm in the same position, I sleep at 3-6am and wake up between 111am-4pm.

Since you have school you should pretty much wake up when your alarm goes off because you have been concentrating on the fact that you need to wake up the next morning.

Or if that doesn't work, u can pull a all nighter, go to school, go home, waste your afternoon on a computer till 9-10pm then sleep.
