I checked out the website and it's like you put the key into the slot and like use a hammer to break the lock. Or something like that.

 

Well see how the notches on the key lead to a ramped piece rather than it being a square? It seems like you hammer it and it slides using that ramped piece and pries open the lock.

 

No, they do not damage the lock at all. When you bump the key, it makes the pins jump up allowing you to turn the key.
