Just added them. And I do not know what the firmware is. All I know is I can play games on it and it plays Ps2 games as well. I don't think it really matters.

Yes. The ps3 fat. And it was one of the first 80gig bundles that came with Metal Gear Solid 4. If firmware is the stuff they update then its the newest firmware.
I think all you can do by hacking is get mods for Cod which is retarded or run Dual Linux.
