Gotham

Is anyone going to be watching Gotham when it airs in a little under 2 weeks?

Gotham is an upcoming American superhero television series created by Bruno Heller, based on characters appearing in and published by DC Comics, specifically those of Detective James Gordon and Bruce Wayne, who were created by Bob Kane, and others in DC's Batman franchise. The series will star Ben McKenzie as the young Gordon.[3] Heller serves as executive producer on the project along with Danny Cannon, who also directed the pilot. Gotham received a series order from Fox on May 5, 2014,[4] and is scheduled to premiere on September 22, 2014.[2]

As originally conceived, the series would have served as a straightforward story of Gordon's early days on the Gotham City Police force. The idea evolved not only to include the Bruce Wayne character, but will also tell the origin stories of several Batman villains, including the Penguin, the Riddler, Catwoman, the Joker,[5] Poison Ivy,[6] Scarecrow,[7] Hugo Strange, Harvey Dent[8] and Mr. Freeze.[9] The first season will consist of sixteen episodes.

I am definitely going to give it a try. It seems like we are getting a saturation of products pertaining to heroes - Arrow, The Flash, Gotham, and Constantine.

I plan on watching all 4, Arrow is already on its 3rd season. The other 3 are just starting.

Will you be giving Gotham a try?

 

I'm not a big fan of Fox dramas, but Gotham seems like a show with a lot of potential, will give the first season a try.

 

DC starting to take over television. It's good to see lol I love DC Universe.

Constantine is an upcoming American television series to air on NBC, based on the characters appearing in the comic series Hellblazer published by DC Comics under their Vertigo imprint.[3] The series will star actor Matt Ryan as John Constantine.[4][5] The pilot episode will be directed by Neil Marshall and written by Daniel Cerone and David Goyer.[6] It is scheduled to premiere on October 24, 2014.[6][7]

First episode was pretty awesome.

 

I missed it, IBDB is it worth catching ?? Did it live up to your expectations?

 

I thought there were some really strong points and some mildly weak points, but overall I thought for a Pilot episode it was pretty good. The first ten-fifteen minutes were quite good in my opinion. The actor for Penguin is SPOT ON. That was a perfect casting. The fight scenes seemed a lot more realistic than your average show as well.

They introduced a ton of characters and most of the castings seemed spot on. There were a few overly dramatic scenes due to iffy acting, but ultimately I think Gotham has a lot of potential. I'd give it the thumbs up to catch up on it. I think I need to warm up to the actor for Commissioner Gordon though, I wasn't 100 percent impressed with him.

I'm not hardcore into the full Batman / Gotham / Commissioner Gordon comic book plots/history, so I don't know how much they deviate from the comics. For the people that are anal about it following that mythos & story to a t, I think they don't like the show much at all. For people like me just casual Batman fans and fine with the writers going their own way, it's pretty cool.

And just wait til you see Penguin, I don't think they could have picked a better one...I was most impressed with him.

 

Something new, waiting for it! Hope it will justify my expectations.

Second episode was a lot better than the Pilot.

 

I enjoyed both episodes. Can't wait for the plot to develop and see in what direction the show will go.

 

I loved it. At first I was clueless on who would become who, I assumed most of the bad guys were just nobodies that were a stepping stone for the main cast. Till I read your post on the villains, and it hit me on what the others will turn out to be. They really got the creepy aspect of penguin that Danny Devito had in batman returns, man he creeped me out as a kid.

I like how it's more broad, and it's not just like those other shows where the good guys have 1-2 enemies at a time. Each villain plays a big role in everything. I can't wait to see how everything will turn out.

 

Saw this as a YouTube ad, it looks amazing and I plan on watching it.

I love Batman and it's something unique, as I'm sure they've never aired TV episodes of Batman before, besides comical ones.

It's fantastic. I always save it for work and it knocks an hour out of work easy (I just work a night desk job so I have time to kill). Anyway, I love it so far.

 

Oswald Cobblepot/ Penguin gets better and better. This actor is taking over the show.
