I' just finished watching this movie for the second time now and damn every time i watch this movie i get the same reaction that humans are fucking cruel! The entire time i was rooting for the aliens to get away and i was happy every time a human from the Government died. after you guys saw this movie i know its old but didn't you think humans are just inherently cruel?

In the film, District 9, Humanity welcomes the aliens with open arms but when they become a drain on society, condemn them to live in a barred-off area with terrible conditions. When I look back on history and the amount of wars we've fought over petty issues, I do believe the Humanity has always had an easier destroying rather than working together. What do you think?

    It's a great movie :p
You have to think from the governments point of view. The aliens are technologically advanced and are a threat. To protect people you must contain the aliens. If the aliens were free to roam who knows what they'd build?

Great movie - very special and totally different from what we are used to.
And yes, the movie plays of course on the subject of Apartheid and cruelty and injustice - hence why it is set in South Africa.
