    Avatar 2 and 3?

So james Cameron recently(ish) finished writing the scripts for avatar 2 and 3 considering the original was in 2009, he's kept us waiting! In a recent interview he said that he'd taken so long so that he did not make an inferior sequel just for the sake if making it fast! Question is do you think avatar 2 will be as good? Will you go and see it at the cinema?

I will go to the cinema yes. I expect the visuals and CGI to be phenomenal, and watching it at home shan't do it justice.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Avatar, however, it wasn't bad by any means. I doubt it will be as good as the first, simply because people expect it to be better, leading to higher exceptions.

I see where you are coming from, especially about expectations. However the well known theory that a sequel isn't normally as good as the original may allow this film to pull it out of the bag. Plus the developments in CGI since the original could make for some even more amazing visuals. I can't wait to see it at the cinema!

Didn't bother to go out and watch Avatar until it came out in 3D then I thought I might as well. It wasn't bad, but I wasn't exactly blown away by it, if/when this does come out I will probably go and watch it, any idea when it's scheduled for?

It's supposed to come out in 2015, I think there's a lot of people who didn't think much of the actual story line, but no one can deny that it looked AMAZING in 3D!

While the visuals were quite stunning, the story was absolutely atrocious.

Strangely enough I don't like seeing movies for just stunning visuals.

    For one thing, this:

But I liked Pocahontas, so that's not a valid reason for myself. The reason I hated the story line was because there was no background. Why are they there? The only reason they gave was "Unuptanium", which is flimsy. What's it used for? Why is it so valuable? What causes humans to travel millions of lightyears, potentially, for a few tons of the stuff? Not to mention the substance itself: although it's obviously fake, like adamantium, it sounds radioactive.. how can a whole tribe of indigenous live for years and years on top of the planet's largest deposit without some sort of illness?

Another reason is implausible bits to the story. How are there suddenly dozens of tribes who will fight against the sky-people when they're never mentioned before, and why do they agree to fight for a surrogate sky-person (Jake Sully) when he's the root of the problem? Lastly, Toruk makto, really...? Only three riders in their entire history, and a surrogate who has been training for MAYBE months in the way of the Navi, and who has otherwise been crippled for years before that in human form... this man is able to conquer the Toruk?

The visuals were amazing on the first film, but the story line is tedious. Unless they can bust out some better fighting scenes and some actual suspense then it wont be very entertaining despite the visuals.

Yeah i get where you are coming from, but i still think the pure fact that the visuals are so amazing, could make any admittedly slightly flimsy story line seem amazing :p

I personally still think the story line was pretty good, however I think the story line can only get worse as there was too much of a 'mission completed' feeling to the film, making me think there will be little going on. However James Cameron is a truly great producer, he could easily pull it out of the bag still if he gets it right.

Yeah I will be watching them at a cinema. Don't expect them to be as good as the first part though.
