My friend and I had a bet on CS:GO. He said if I win, I get a Knife, and if he wins I get him a knife. I won, but its been 2 months since the bet. He still talks to me like nothing happened, but every time I bring it up he gets all mad and just simply hangs up, everything is normal the next day. What do you think I should do? How should I approach this..? I don't wanna drop it cold turkey, I used to go to school with him. But I really was gonna do my end of the bargain.

Meet with him in person so he doesn't have a method of getting out of the conversation?

If he is a good friend, let it go. Not worth losing his friendship over something so small.

Are we talking about a real life knife? And if you guys are 14 years old it's not a good idea to bet knives. If you bust his chops, make him a bet, lose purposely, and act like nothing happen then bring up your previous bet when he starts sweatin' you. Hehe, this would get him salty.

If he's trying to get out of it constantly then it's obvious he doesn't want to pay up. Speak to him irl and see what he says, personally I would ditch any friend who ripped me off or did something very similar.

He's on about a virtual in-game item in CS:GO. Some knives in that game can be worth quite a bit of money.

If it was a serious bet, take all measures to get the cash.

If it was friendly "joking" bet, drop it. Also, if you have done what he is doing to you now, drop it also.

You can't really force him to pay. Maybe he can't afford to lose his knife. Like you say, $250 is a lot for a 14-year-old.

If he's a good friend, just drop it and never do bets with him again.

True, his father owns a company though. Here's an update: he sent me a pic of a random persons inventory with the knife in it. His inventory is on private, and he refused to show me the knife in game. Then we played comp and all the skins on the page he sent me none were active. He then confessed he sent me a picture of some random persons skin, trying to convince me he was trade banned for 3 months. Need ideas after this act.

    You cornered him.

He is trying to keep your friendship IMO.

Drop it and give him a second chance but never trust him again with items til he is more mature.

I dont think i can be friends with a SCAMMER though. Thats like telling a kid napper to keep on touch, doesn't work like that. Need ideas to make him spit it out so we can resume our friendship

Say online in no uncertain terms that you want it back. If that doesn't work up follow up in person, bring his mom/dad into it if you have to.

If he doesn't pay you cut him out. Not a great friend to have around if you can't trust him.

If I were you I would stop reminding him about it, but if he ever asks you for for a favor or anything, just don't do it.

To be honest you have been given a wider variety of answers now and he still doesn't seem to determined to either keep your friendship or return the stolen item.

It's your choice to make but if he does this about items at that expense, it makes you wonder what else he's capable of doing?

Trade bans show on up on the Steam profile (regardless it being private or not).

If he was trade banned then he'd obviously had done something shady to get trade banned.

Good relationships are built on trust. If you can't trust him, you don't want him as a friend.

Personally, whenever I bet with friends, I make sure I value their friendship over the amount I am betting. So if they don't pay up, I would be more disappointed in losing their friendship than the money.
