Painting signature?

Hello everyone. Can anybody tell me what does that signature say? My mom found this painting and said that it is atleast 100-150 years old



Can't tell what the sig says so i need your help :huh:

 

Anybody know what it says?

 

We tried for like an hour with no luck...

 

I would say that it is : g.v---luinery

- = not sure.

ill try to help you and search on the web when I got time but yea,... This is what I see

 

I've tried nearly 50 different combinations for what the name could be to no avail, and looked up artists of the past century to see if it was a famous artist. The artist was most likely unknown.

 

That's what we tried... even through we download the Internet everyday, we couldn't find an archive with a name that matched whatever that signature actually says. It could have been an unpublished artist...

Who knows... try to find an art expert to verify it.

From the picture I am about 80% sure that picture isn't 150 years old. At 150 years old it would have signs of aging that aren't present and since it obviously isn't kept in an archival quality case it would be exposed to the elements.

 

My mother got this from her mother about 30 years ago and my grandma got this when she was in her 20s and most likely my grandmas mother got it most likely in her early 30s or late 20s. After that i'm not sure about the history
There's a lot of signs of aging on the backside
